Have hockey players been resting more, in recent years, than previous decades?

Have they followed what the MLB and NBA have done?

MLB rests players (beyond pitcher rotations)? I know you have to be athletic and put your body on the line for certain dives and stuff and there are so many more baseball games than NBA, it just seems that resting in baseball is stupid. I think resting in basketball is also stupid because of the data the NBA says they have on injury risk.

But even with the stretching to keep your foot on the base and tagging, a player requires athleticism and moving your body, and outfielders need to chase a fly ball, you don’t need to rest in baseball because you are sitting for half the game batting and most often you’re just standing because most pitches are not hit. I know that there’s travel, and other factors, but that is part of why you’re paid millions. limit practice as long as you stretch enough and stay in condition. Have a good medical experts that can give you the best chances of avoiding injury and fatigue.

I have even heard of golfers sitting out certain tournaments because of fatigue and I think that is stupid how stretched out these things are timewwise. Strategically, sometimes you do not want to or you are trying to work a bigger event, that’s different. Even though I know that some courses are far to walk because you’re not able to take the golf cart in tournaments. Golf is mental game that can stress you out and you can get really wound up especially when you need to be calm for certain things. You don’t have to play in any tournament you don’t want to or doesn’t help your career. Just don’t talk about fatigue.
