Indiana has a great offense...

... but, man, their defense sucks.

Fun little team... but I don't know who they could beat in a real NBA playoff environment... teams are just gonna hammer their weaknesses on defense, while concentrating their efforts on slowing down Haliburton when Indy has the ball.

And as for my parade comment, i would have said that about any team who won this. I was never a big fan of this thing. Not everything is about the lakers
Only thing I'll say though is it looks like it's probably here to stay. My only take is that Adam Silver is always trying to think of what's gonna get revenue for the NBA and is willing to try things out. Not saying all changes are good ones, though so don't get it twisted...

When AD plays like that.....the Lakers are unbeatable.

41 points, 20 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks.
I said something similar but did qualify it noting the Pacers give up the 2nd most points in the league, right above the Spurs and below the Wizards

They’re bitter because I don’t see AD as a top 15 player. Apparently, that opinion really hurt some feelings.
For whatever reason people like to say well if we had played our A game no one would have beat us. That works until a team that is much better than you plays their A game the same night.

Organization > Individual

It's what most of us at least should have been taught as kids. Not rocket science. "Blaming the others" only gets you so far both in sports and in real life.

lol

And what about obligations to family? Is no one allowed to change organizations if another one provides a better situation for themselves and their family? Or is it just Lebron that isn't?

Maybe you can tell us all about that time Lebron left his team so he could go try another sport?

How about you remind us all of the last time Lebron demanded a trade or didn't fulfill a contract?

True, but as Halliburton said after the game...it was good for the Pacers. It exposed them to a "playoff like" atmosphere and helps them to learn what they need to do.

The question is can they apply it and how quickly?

Sure... big game experience is good and can only help.

That said: all the experience in the world isn't gonna change the fact that Indy is (structurally) a bad defensive team. Looking across their roster, the only really good defensive player that I see is Bruce Brown. Everyone else either has a wart or two or is flat out awful on D.

Hadn't really seen them much before last night so I can't speak too much to it.

Last night, they were just too small. The Lakers committed to getting the ball into the paint and just physically wore them down.

They never let the Pacers play at the speed they like.

There's a little bit to work with defensively. Mathurin looked pretty solid and Nesmith wasn't backing down either.

But yeah, they need some size and a couple of guys with defensive mindsets. It's tough to win every game 135-130. lol
