I actually think the opposite, now Chubb had his injury history but they had Hunt for the past couple years and other than last year he got a lot of carries. Compared to the other too RB’s Chubb does not have the wear and tear imo.

6 more games than Cook-same carries.
Look at those top backs it doesn’t look so bad. They have managed his carries having depth. This will be the first year he could go 350+. Barely cleared 300 last year.

Now even me saying this he will still be 29. Not sure he is worth another contract but that can be said for any RB

Interesting. I see where you’re coming from. I had him at a 350-400 touch guy yearly. Perception just seemed like he was grinding weekly with 20 plus carries. It speaks to his great production that I thought he was racking up all those scrimmage yards with more touches than he actually had. Chubb was a great investment for you guys.

Shit....

Kareem Hunt is a FA....I am almost good with rescinding the tag on Jacobs and bringing in Hunt. Go with a RB by committee....
Fournette too, he would be just fine

The defense wasn't stopping Josh Johnson, which seems more of a red flag to me.

Not worried about that.

Defenses don’t show a whole lot in preseason.

But that is also why I am not getting too excited over how good Howell looked.

I had him on one of my fantasy teams and it was frustrating the touches he would lose to Hunt. He'd be on a roll in a game, ripping off big runs, come out of the game for a breather and Hunt would get the red zone touches. That kept his workload down a bit.

That 5.0+ ypc will do that. There were so many times where I questioned why he wasn't on the field in GL situations after basically being on the sideline the entire drive. Hunt took a lot of workload especially on 3rd downs. I think this year will be the first year he will truly be a 3 down back. His value going forward will depend on how he holds up this year. Maybe they thought the plan to take all the workload off him was bc of his injury history. This year they are all-in so we likely see if he can be the workhorse.

I don't know...it almost looks like they franchise him at 29 if they don't have an immediate plan.

Or maybe he sees the writing and goes for a reasonable 2 year deal idk. don't see him getting much more than 2

wild to me that Jarvis Landry tanked so badly he's not even in the league right now.

QB could get interesting in SF.

Purdy is going to start because of last year...but apparently, Sam Darnold has actually had the best camp of the 3.

That jackass in cleats Baker 'bowel movement' Mayfield has successfully beaten out a rookie for the starting job.

And the Bucs fan base be like.

More cap rollover for ‘24. Working that magic. @Stakesarehigh @dtgold88

Say what ya will about this FO but they have a grasp on how to use the cap it seems. We are often among the highest spenders AND in cap room.

Anyone who thinks Haslam is cheap is just clueless (doesn't mean he needs to be liked, of course). Just saw we spent $516 mil in cash the last 2 seasons. Lge. avg. was around $230-240 mil. Next highest was Jags at $268 mil.

You have to think there’s a plan for the money. They’re either looking to bolster a few positions or they’re looking to redo someone and take the extra room and apply signing bonus to this calendar year. You don’t create room for the sake of creating room.
They were going to have to do it after the season to get under next year so just did it now instead.

How good is Jerome Ford?

He is obviously no Chubb. But if he can produce say 85% of what Chubb can, Browns have to consider letting Chubb walk.

Seems to be the way the RB market works now anyway.
as fans we have no clue as he hasn't played at all in the games and I think he is nursing an injury.

I get how the RB market has been but does seem like Chubb might be someone they'd try to keep if at all possible....and he did not try to get the last dollar last time (even though signed a nice deal).

That must then entail moving some of the money back to this year’s cap with different players. I don’t know. The cap management stuff is so convoluted. I’ll trust the experts to know what they’re doing. I just know that experience has taught me when teams clear that much cap on the eve of the season that they’re looking to do something. How are they at LB and S? There are some guys looking to get paid at those positions.
LBs are OK (nothing special) and a couple are coming back from injury so that is the one position where a major upgrade could be nice. I's say we are fine at safety.
