Both Shaq and Dr. J have Karl Malone in their top 10 all-time… Are they really that off base?

Elaborate.

I did.

You said my post was stupid and I doubt you even read it.

I think you might need to look up “dominant” in the dictionary.

Bird couldn’t be the “most dominant player” in league history because he wasn’t even the consensus best player of his own era.

And Stockton and Malone were superstar teammates in an era where almost all the other top teams had 1 star.

And they only made it out of the West twice.

If they were “dominant” they would have accomplished more. It wasn’t just Jordan blocking them. The Stockton and Malone Jazz had more first round playoff losses than West Finals appearances.

I read everything you said and I think your opinion on domination is very biased. To say Malone and Stockton were not a dominant force is pure stupidity. Again, I think you are an idiot.

Awesome.

No logical comeback?

Let’s go straight to personal insults. Only 1 person here incapable of making a counterpoint.

I watched them play. They were both a bit dirty. And I couldn’t stand the short shorts.

So maybe I am biased against them, but the results don’t lie.

And there are people on here trying to say Malone is better than Duncan.

Well, Duncan didn’t have a co-star on stockton’s level for most of his career (aside from the first few years before Robinson started declining).

But the Spurs actually were a dominant team for Duncan’s entire tenure.

"I watched them play". Your "intelligent" response to my supposed nonsense was this anecdotal nonsense? You are an idiot. A well read idiot, but an idiot nonetheless.

Yeah, you are waste of time.

No intelligent conversation from you. Just like I thought.

Have a nice day.

Like I said, those of different era's will never agree.

You can't convince someone of a different time that you are right and they will never convince you that you are wrong.

Think Ruth could hit 60 home runs against a constant fleet of 95 mph pitchers?

Think Bonds or Judge could hit sixty homers against a dead baseball?

Defend your belief, don't castigate another for his.

I fart loudly in public. You may think me rude. I don't care. I'm relieved.

Bird dropping out is hilarious, nobody in the history of the game, even Jordan, dominated the game like bird did before his back injury.
This is a hard to defend take but it's all just opinions

Let’s just make this easy….

I have it Duncan.

Malone seems to have gotten the better of him in the Playoffs.

But, 4 of those wins was when Malone was with the Lakers.

He was hardly the catalyst for many of those.

He barely reached double figures 3 times 13, 13, 10.

…..and didn’t reach it at all the other three with 9,8 and 7.

Who would have been their closest counterparts as a duo?

Kemp and Payton?

* Parker and Duncan don’t make the cut, Stockton was better*

Payton and Stockton weren’t that far apart.

But, Malone shits all over Kemp.

So, yeah….

For at least a 5 year span, they were dominant imo….

They didn’t just run into the Bulls.

They had to fight off the Spurs, Lakers and Sonics too.

I am willing to have discussions over all of this. I am not willing to discuss someone saying Stockton/Malone was not a dominant duo. That is simple nonsense.

No, you are hung up on semantics of a definition of a word.

You didn’t attempt to have a discussion with me, you went straight to insults.

That is incredibly lame.

But that is my point Mecca.

There are plenty of “dominant duos” in league history.

Jordan and Pippen, Kareem and Magic, Shaq and Kobe, etc.

Stockton and Malone are easily the best PG/PF combo of all time. But they are not a dominant duo to me. A truly dominant duo gets rings.

All those teams that beat the Jazz were really good.

But only a few were actually great.

That is not a dominant, or overpowering duo to me. Because a lot of teams beat them. Sometimes when Stockton and Malone were actually the 2 best players on the court.

My guy, every single one of these publications disagree.

Some obscure, some betting sites, some mainstream.

All have them listed as dominant.

One guy has scored the 3rd most points in NBA History, the other leads the NBA in assists.

Not getting over the hump is definitely a con.

But, these dudes have way too many pros not to qualify….imo

Stockton and Malone dominated the league for nearly two decades as teammates on the Utah Jazz. While they were unable to win a championship together — they came up short in the NBA Finals twice, both times against Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls — they're recognized as some of the best players to have ever graced the hardwood, especially at their respective positions. Stockton is often viewed as the ultimate point guard and there is only one player in NBA history who has ever scored more points in their career than Malone.

That is all fine.

But he shut down over a personal definition basically.

That is trash.

I just have a higher standard for what that means to me. And I explained that.

You don’t have to agree.

And he also called prime Bird “the most dominant player ever”.

So who is more skewed here?
