there is a far cry between getting Jack Conklin or John Johnson to sign and arguably the top available qb in NFL history given his age.

the only thing that makes it arguable is his legal troubles...which the NFL indicated wouldn't hit him as hard as it did when the free for all started on Deshaun

I love my team but I'm not delusional.
why is it such a far cry........especially knowing the other teams we were competing with? Watson had to agree to talk to these teams and the Browns were one he was willing to meet with. we only cannot compare it to guys like Conklin as QBs like that don't often hit the FA market (nor did watson).

has nothing to do with being delusional. seems most agree the other teams might have been willing to rip up his current deal. The idea of guaranteeing him 100% is so overblown if you believe the guy can play and he's a QB.

I agree the current Browns regime is a far cry from Butch or Farmer so I get being defensive about this but end of day the Browns gave him the best deal and he took it. And it took them doing so to get him in Cleveland.

Not sure why it has to be anymore than that.

ultimately the guaranteed money will not be an issue provided he performs. this is the make or break year not only for him but for the franchise. if he sucks again we are screwed for half a decade.

Sadly, I think we could have been really successful with Butch as coach but someone else as the GM.

Not sure I'd call it defensive since I wont push back when someone rips the Browns if they can back it. Hell, wont even push back if they tell me this regime has not proven much yet. All going to come down to whether the QB they brought in can play as expected/hoped. If he cannot, that's a major strike against them and will very likely cost them (and perhaps the coach) their jobs.

your last comment is spot on. Play like he did in Houston and we are among the SB favorites in the AFC (wont be easy, though, with all the talent in the AFC). Play like he did last year we are in trouble.

Schwartz and the new defensive schemes could help a ton...but ultimately will be up to the QB like most teams.

rule 5 - make comments to fuck with me that make no sense
rule 6 - repeat rule 5 as I easily refute your comments
rule 7 - get spooked and avoid all direct questions that refute your comments

There are plenty of ways to rip the Browns, though it does seem like it's getting tougher with THIS regime as you've clearly noticed....hell, if you haven't noticed when warranted I will rip them myself.
Yep 26-24 is taking over. The league is on notice. “Here comes the fucking 8th best team in the AFC mother fuckers! Better pack your lunch pail because these dudes are the baddest fucking 7-10 team you’ll ever see!”

Butch was a good coach horrible gm. if we've learned anything it's that college coaches should not be in charge of talent acquisition

I love his 26-24 comment because it masks the reality that they’ve taken a dip in wins every year.

We’re just on the carousel again. He was the biggest Mayfield guy in the world. Now when he is making excuses it’s all “without a franchise QB” when he knows full well that he was hyping Mayfield as a franchise QB until he got Brownied like the rest of them. 3 years from now he’ll be doing the same when Watson fails.

you may not have known but that QB we've mentioned some missed 44 of those games (11 last year).

Not sure they should be lumped in with a team that went 4-44 over a 3 year stretch but go ahead if you want.

Why did he miss so many games? Oh that’s right…he’s an animal and a garbage human being who sexually assaulted masseuses.

"The biggest Mayfield guy in the world"?

I mean, if you need to lie/exaggerate I'd ask you to be more creative. Even before we moved Baker I wanted to make the deal for Watson when I heard it was a possibility. I did think maybe he'd be better in 2022 if he was recovered from his injury but also was not sure 2021 Baker was the real Baker.

Try again.

I mean, I don't know many who were being sexually assaulted who stayed and watched a guy pleasure himself when they could go......and called their assaulter back to see him again.

Maybe you do.

You forget that we used to post together all the time on Rivals. You were constantly hyping Mayfield. And you were hyping the Browns team that ended up being one of the biggest disappointments in the league in 2021. You’re nut riding a team who had one blip on the radar year in the last decade and won 11 games.

Do what? Defend garbage human beings and make excuses for them because they play for my team like you do?

I'm still not entirely sure what would've become of Baker had he not injured himself against Houston. his fist two games he was leading the league in completion pct and after that injury he was not the same guy.

he had a very good 2020 season. albeit behind a stacked offense.

even with one of the worst coaches in nfl history he managed a 75 pff rating.

I don't forget being on Rivals at all (doubt I said much there about Baker in the 2021 season though as I was mostly gone with few comments there).....but I also posted here before Baker was dealt for watson and I did say I hope we can get watson.

Not nutriding anyone. said IF watson plays like he did in Houston we could be a contender......but he could also be the guy we saw last year and if that happens we are in trouble.

You lied/exaggerated and got caught. Own it. Or don't.

Was clear what I was asking.....do you know of many people who are being assaulted who can leave but stay to be assaulted.....then call their attacker to see him again?

I was thinking that for a while but unless he is still hurt maybe the league just figured him out.

Still like the kid and hope he succeeds in TB......but I have my doubts.
