Round 7: No. 240 (from PHI via IND) – Christian Holmes, CB, Oklahoma State

Holmes was the 7th round pick included in the draft. As you can see that pick came from Indianapolis.

My point is it is fine to say Washington paid too much for Wentz, but it isn't quite honest saying they got Wentz for three picks. Washington got two other players and I noted who they drafted just as you noted who the Colts drafted. Indy still has one pick left from that trade in 2023.

Regardless of who plays QB this week, if you cannot beat the Browns, you deserve to be fired, period! Run the damn ball all game.

When Washington was winning it was a heavy dose of run, very few penalties and D was the bomb. No different now. They need the same and they need Wentz to get in the end zone.

Washington is holding on to the NFC's final spot for dear life, turning back to Wentz after Taylor Heinicke's consistent struggles over the past month. The Commanders started the season as one of the league's most pass heavy offenses, but Wentz's inaccuracy -- he was 22nd in completion rate over expected through Week 5 -- forced the team to lean into the run. We can expect more of that run-first approach in Week 17 as Washington faces the run-funnel Cleveland defense. Curtis Samuel has new fantasy life with Wentz, who targeted the slot receiver relentlessly in the season's first month. Wentz is a shaky superflex start this week.

I think the decision to wait as long as he did to go back to Wentz. Is a decent indication that it was Snyder n not RR who orchestrated the Wentz trade. It has has the earmarks of a Snyder move as well. Overpaying both in trade capital n in salary. As well as coveting a player who at one time in his career was a sexy player, but who's best days are likely behind him.

It doesn't track all that well that RR would've left Wentz on the bench after he was green lighted to play again for as long as he did. If in RR's words Wentz was his guy. It does track that RR was able to stay with Taylor as long as he did because Snyder has been barred from being involved with the Skins.
