Of course I realize that toxic is not the objective. Who wouldnt realize that toxic is not the objective.

When you make posts in which you seem to be trying to define or pigeonhole something large and complicated, like “what causes and constitutes a toxic environment” into something idiotic like “different morals” or “jokes overheard by a third party,” or “boss directives,” that I sometimes feel the need to respond to.

Like DGFC said, it’s more than that.
Point it out. I honestly don’t know anything about the work environment for the Redskins. What makes it toxic?

”I don’t kow what it is, but I know it when I see it.”

The Supreme Court tried to define pr0n that way in the last century. Now, it’s everywhere because the legal system couldn’t define it to prohibit it.

I get the feeling that Toxic Workplace Environment is the same way. We all get it, but nailing it down just doesn’t happen, because it’s just word salad and everyone can interpret it differently.

The owners should vote him out for illegal financial improprieties they can prove.

So why did Congress get involved at all?

A toxic work environment is hard to define . I think what Snyder and the FO certainly qualified IMO . Now should congress be involved ? IMO no it shouldn’t . That belongs in the AG office, the DOJ if it happenEd in DC . The AG of Maryland or VA depending where it occurred

now it could help in the removal of Snyder as owner but my opinion is Congress has more pressing matters then solving work place issues of a football team specifically

just like social media, it’s all about the clicks. This is highly visible and could help in raising campaign funds and votes.
plus it has the added benefit of clouding the fact that congress isn’t doing their real job.

Thank you for posting. For me, those traits listed as toxic are not toxic, except for the aggression. The other traits may be examples of poor leadership but no employee has a right to a good leader. If you don’t like the leader, then quit.

You can call it whatever you want. The work environment under Snyder was less than pleasant and was mean spirited. I have said this many times, I know people who worked there and it was not good. I worked for a company who did work for Snyder prior to him owning the team, it was less than pleasant. I can say the same for another friend or two.

One thing I 100% agree with gk about is ... if you aren't happy .... LEAVE. That is what my brother did and to use his words, he said "fuck that motherfucker."

There were reports that employees were singled out in meetings to be made fun and embarrassed. As well as reports that when Snyder was in the building employees better not be seen by him going to the bathroom. A claim that when Jay Gruden was HC. Both he and RB, Kapri Bibbs were screwing the same Redskin female employee. A claim that Snyder himself was the one that ordered the Skins cheerleaders to be video taped in the locker room. A former cheerleader alleges that Snyder basically told her to go hook up with a VIP. A claim that it was the Skins not the league that released the emails on Jon Gruden. At least one player supposedly habitually harassed a female employee for a date.

The shit involving Bibbs n Jay Gruden may have cost Alex Smith his career Bibbs alleges as well,

Being singled out in meetings is not toxic if it is professional. If an employee is being made fun of, that is workplace harassment and should be handled in court.

The restroom thing has to be complete bullshit. If not, again, it should be handled in the courts.

Bibbs and Gruden screwing the same person…depending on the job she was doing, nothing wrong with that from a work point of view.

I would have major issues with cheerleaders being videotaped without their knowledge, and I am orrery sure that is criminal in nature. Again, it should be handled in the courts.

The cheerleader and the VIP, she could easily say no. Was she threatened? If so, again it should be handled in the courts.

I am not sure if there is anything wrong with the team releasing Gruden’s emails, if it was done on he company’s server.

A player harassed an employee for a date, and that is on the company? Would you care to bet that every team has this going on? I am not saying it is right but it should be handled in the courts.

I can’t say I understand how Snyder cost AS his career. That is just utter BS.

I agree with the take that if you don't like the environment then leave. Of course they shouldn't have to leave if the workplace environment was not this way. And a cheerleader can't just leave and find another cheerleading gig in another place. The point remains a toxic workplace is far more that what @gkekoa mentioned, and it should never ever happen.

You all continue to think this is a waste of the time of Congress. 'Ya think other workers in other places, especially sports teams, aren't taking notice? You think all of this won't change their behavior in the future? I don't see that at all.

First of all, life is full of inequities. You can’t legislate all inequities. At some point, people have to learn how to deal with them on their own terms. This is one of the root problems in our society today. Second, this will not change anything in the NFL. This is the owners playground. They write the rules. They own it, they should. The best response is to stop patronizing the product. How you affect change is thru their pocketbooks. You don’t like how the act, stop supporting them. You, not some report with no teeth from congress, is how you make the nfl owners change. Stop expecting someone else to deal with your issues. When I speak of you, I’m talking in the collective you, not DGF specifically.

Not Snyder, Gruden. Bibbs claims that Gruden was mad that both were doing the samw female. And that Gruden benched him n the player that took Bibbs place @ RB. Was the player that missed his assignment allowing AS to be sacked. It was the sack that AS had his leg broken. in the Houston game.

I posted the story here on the forum n asked if anyone had heard anything about it.

  • According to transcripts from Snyder’s deposition, the owner “jumped for joy” after Washington acquired Carson Wentz. You’ll remember ESPN’s explosive report claiming Snyder was behind the Wentz trade, which Ron Rivera vehemently denied to the media.
the lies just keep coming with this organization . and as i thought snyder was behind the wince deal which in of itself spelled doom

Even then, that sack is not on Gruden, and I can’t stand Gruden. Unless Gruden instructed whoever the RB was to allow the defender to go unblocked, that is just football.

I'm not just talking about the owners, there were several culprits in Washington in addition to the owner. But it now applies to the owners as well. This story was dying, Congress kept it alive and in the national news. Now every employee at every team, and this is not limited to just workplaces in NFL teams, will get a strong message that their little games will no longer be tolerated and have consequences. For the other owners perhaps they will think twice before acting like a pig to a female employee. Regardless "life it not fair" is not the answer.

I'm not saying this Congressional investigation alone will result in a huge change in workplace environments across the country. But it sure didn't hurt and it served a valuable purpose other than to get rid of Snyder.

So we will just tell woman who were victims of sexual harassment that "life isn't fair"? This is your solution to a very real and large problem? Wow, just......wow.
