You need to take into consideration what the Nets want in return for KD. It's too much. He's not in his 20's anymore.
The only thing that seems "pretty fucking stupid" is your inability to see KD's now injury prone.

And speaking of "pretty fucking stupid" again do you think the Nets only want RWIII, G. Williams & Smart for KD?
I recognize his age. KD with load management for say 56 games and playoffs is much more valuable in my eyes than some role players for 78 games a year. Shit, how many games did RW III miss last year. KD is one of the best players in the league. Even at 32 with the wear and tear he’s a unicorn.

Hard no on that sort of trade from this Celtic fan's perspective.

If KD weren't a huge drama-queen... maybe.

Simply put: this off-the-court nonsense coupled with his age is a drag on KD's overall value... the Celtics are better off running with what they got (which is arguably the best team in the NBA already) if they can't get a better deal than that.
Fair enough. Just get it done soon because Brown is getting a max soon and it’s going to dramatically change their roster flexibility going forward. Maybe Taintum/Brown and role players is good enough to win a championship. Or maybe a decade from now you’re looking back and saying it didn’t work. Time will tell.

To be fair, you could also make the case that inexperience (championship level) cost them that series and that Tatum will be better next time around. They just ran into a team that had been there and done that multiple times and that experience was the difference.

Having said that, getting KD would be a definite "win now" move and conventional wisdom is that when you have a chance to "win now" you take it.
They’re never getting the luxury of having Horford coming off essentially an off year where he put no wear and tear on the body ever again. His play is diminishing. And RWIII has injury issues of his own. I don’t think they’re easily getting back to the Finals. I still think if the Bucks have Middleton that they win that series v Celtics.

I never thought I'd see the day where anyone would try to compare KD, an all time great, to RW III.

KD for Jaylen, Smart, RW III, G. Williams + draft picks is great for the Nets. Not so great for the Celtics.

Technically, I said two of three on the non-Brown players not all 3. I think that’s what’s needed to get Boston to the level of championship contender. The only guy I would try and keep is RWIII because of Horford’s age.

Also, why do you do this? Did you honestly think my invocation of RWIII was to try and compare him to KD? Be real. It was clear when you called out KD’s age and wear and tear I was pointing out RWIII’s injury history which is actually a thing. Did you honestly think I was doing a head to head player comparison on that? That’s a retarded assumption. RWIII is a pimple on KD’s ass cheek. There’s no way any casual fan of basketball would even attempt that head to head comparison. I was clearly pointing out that he has an injury history too.

Nash is not a good coach of on a X's and O's stanspoint.

He has no idea what the word " adjustment " even means.

I know Kerr made it look easy.

But, you can't just hire a white guy named Steve, with zero coaching experience, and expect to be successful enough immediately.

If they want to try again, I'm available....

I haven't been here a ton the last week.

But, did you see Lavar get kicked out of the Drew League?

As for a Coaching candidate, how about Sam Cassell?

Snyder is out there as well.

Cassell deserves a shot, liked him for the Lakers before they picked Ham.

Snyder is a proven option.

KD is not good enough to be making demands anymore. He is an old injury prone player at this point with 0 leverage, that hasn't proven he can be a leader of a team anywhere.

NBA management needs to start stomping heads and restricting rights again.

The players have shown they can't handle the responsibility of being an adult and professional. Throwing tantrums and giving ultimatums are not what adults do.

Nash will get the blame, but it isn't his fault Irving didn't play and KD can't stay healthy.

That works both ways. If he isn't good enough to be making demands, he isn't good enough to bring back the loot level the Nets are asking for either. This would resolve itself quickly if they eased up even just a little on those demands.

I've already said this but obviously I have to repeat it.

It's not just about his age.<-- He's now injury prone.<-- And I think the Nets want too much in return for him.<--

You can disagree all you want. It won't change my opinion on this topic.

But this "also, why do you do this" nonsense. What's that all about? You don't like my opinion on this topic. So what exactly am I doing other than not agreeing with you?

Phil would've smoked up Kyrie and got him vaccinated in a haze.
Jordan would have handled it in Kyries sleep. And it might have ended in more than just a vaccination.

This was what I was responding to. Did you honestly think I was comparing KD and RWIII head to head as players?

Not as players. But you did try to compare KD & RW III's injuries. Last I checked KD now has legit injury issues that have spanned multiple seasons. RW III. I don't think one injury can make a player injury prone.

The Nets going to have to lower their price for KD now....

Seems to me like he is forcing his way to Miami
