The Celtics tore it up in the 2nd half of last season...

... then went to the NBA Finals...

... then improved substantially in the offseason... (they're arguably the deepest team in the NBA)...

Injuries might conspire to keep them from getting to or past that win total... but that's about the only thing that could stop them.

I think everyone gets more than enough rest to end up in the low 50s again

or them not caring and realizing they can get out of the East without the 1 seed?

A lot of competition in the East. Miami, CLE and Mil all had injuries most of the season. Toronto came on late. Philly improved. Atlanta improved. I would expect another tight race with no clear cut team that wins close to 60. Only 2 teams won 56+ games. Phoenix and Memphis, who won 56 exactly.

Fair enough.

So much of the equation depends on injuries...

In the regular season, Tatum kind is GOATum ;)... dude should feast.

On a serious note, Tatum was straight terrible in the Finals... from where I sit, the sports world has gone easy on him for that showing... (he really hasn't been called out all that much).

If a player like Steph, LeBron or KD had 100 turnovers in a single playoffs it would be a topic of discussion right now.

I agree that Tatum hasn't been called out enough for his historically awful '22 playoffs.

It wasn’t just TO’s he shot historically terrible. Other than his defense that was a pretty bad performance. If he plays better they realistically have a shot at winning it

I mean with one less game he had more attempts than in the 7 game Miami series and he had 50 fewer points. He also shot 66% at the stripe.

It was difficult to watch at times

Do you mean for the Finals or overall? My guess is you mean the Finals. If so can't disagree. Here are his Finals numbers. Oddly enough he shot better from downtown (45.5) than from the field (36.7).

Some of that was on Tatum. But the Warriors D did a great job keeping him in check.

I don't know what the worst Finals FG% for a player all time is. But Tatum's gotta be up there.

56 wins is a high win total in good conference that only got better. I don't think anyone in the east hit 55 again

Brooklyn Nets are taking me back to my Catholic High School days. FA is about to start and they decide they’re going to play cock tease on changing the whole complexion of the league. Waste 4 weeks dating a girl only to catch a hand slap sliding into third base. Fucking prudes.
