First, cutting Haskins was wise at the time. Fitz got hurt in week 1, didnt know what he could of done. Now you are playing MOnday morning QB with Herbert. Even if they did go the QB route it would of been Tua. Herbet was not even considered, you are bringing him up b/c of his success in LA. Young was the better player and i have no problem with selecting him. Plus you had a former 1st round pick in Haskins on your team that never really played and the jury was still out on him. Drafting Young was not a poor decision at the time. Classic that your bring that up.
if he chose tua over the clearly better herbert then he would be bashed for that as well

You are missing the point and continue to defend Rivera at all costs.

At the end of the day...was it the correct decision to draft Young over Hebert? Yes or no? I was against drafting Young because it made no sense to me to draft 4 straight DLinemen with the 1st pick in four straight drafts. Rivera owned the draft strategy and signed off on Young.

Young disappeared in college against elite teams and others saw that as well. Drafting Young at #2 was a mistake and we can all admit that now. He has all the talent in the world but has not lived up to it. We should have drafted Hebert and we all know that. I am not saying Young is a bust or a bad player, however, he does not appear to be a #2 overall pick at this time. He has time to improve of course, but there are too many red flags to ignore at this time.

I have literally NEVER seen a fan defend a coach and GM like you do.

Snyder's antics have hurt but to be fair 30 years of losing has been a huge part of it too.

We have had terrible seasons before, but to the best of my knowledge, we never were dead last until 2021.

Dan was the tipping point.

You keep trying to keep the fanbase alive but its dying and you know it. I think you have convinced yourself that if we put together a winning season, this all goes away. You believe Rivera and Wentz can help straighten out the organization. Nothing could be further from the truth.

We will see what happens if we win. I dont want you to jumping on any bandwagons.

Mr Monday morning QB at his best. Young was a slam dunk prospect at draft time. Herbert was not on the radar for QB it was Tua. At the time it was the right move. But of course Young tears his ACL and we are in a hole again. Bad Luck again. Everyone as on board with the Young pick at the time. Bringing Herbert up is just crazy

b/c you are not judging fairly at all. You expected way too much from RR in his first 2 years.

He was a great prospect...no doubt. But we did NOT need a slam dunk prospect at DE. We were loaded at that position.

From the get-go, we all knew Haskins wasn't the answer. Kyle Smith, Gruden, and our scouts were never behind Haskins. I believe Kyle Smith even blurted out "Is he really our pick???"

We needed a QB in 2020, but Rivera thought otherwise. He waiting until Year 3 of his regime to acquire a franchise QB. The QB is the MOST important position on the field. Rivera and Mayhew were literally calling every team (by some accounts) to get a QB. Rivera's mistakes are too many to count at this point.

Yes Gruden and Smith did not want Haskins. I agree. RR had to give him a shot b/.c he never played. they werent going to give up in their first round pick from a year ago without actually playing him. I n the draft when you have a slam dunk prospect you take him Especially at the DE position. There were still questions about TUa b/c of his hip injury but he was still rated higher than Herbert. They actually went the safe route and selected Young. They didnt forecast that he will tear is acl in Year 2.

Not jumping on any bandwagon. I want to stick with the Commanders but like DarrellGreen fan, I can't keep ignoring what happened and what continues to happen in the front office.

We are still being investigated for witholding or stealing money from other teams. I know you disagree, but I don't care what the scoreboard says: if we are covering up the actions of the owner, harassing victims of sexual assault and stealing money, I am DONE!

look if he likes a guy he fights to the end if he hates a guy its that way too , he hated BS because he was wrong about when he would be drafted , he hated KC because of an int vs the giants and he will hate payne real soon

tua had an injured hip and watching his film and his sr bowl he was clearly the best qb of the 2 . better arm stronger more durable i said that at the time just like i said what i said about the 4x pb 2x all pro BS

I am sure Kyle Smith, who was assistant GM to Rivera, told Rivera that Haskins wasn't the guy. We also knew that Smith might not ever play again period. Bottom line

I disagree with grabbing a DE when there is literally no concrete QB on the roster. Haskins started/played in 9 games in 2019 and had 7 TDs and 7 INTs with a 76 QB rating. That is decent evidence to me. ARZ has the same issue with Rosen in 2018 and they went with Murray at the #1 pick in 2019. They made the right decision obviously and haven't looked back.

We made a mistake and stuck with Haskins.

I really like Young. He can be special, however, he reminds me of Arrington a bit.

The work ethic, at this time, is not there. He could turn around and have 20 sacks in 2022, however, there are a ton of red flags.

I think he goes down as a miss for us.

Hebert is amazing...no doubt.

Rivera wanted a strong defense first though. He waiting till year 3 to get a QB...sigh.

Like I said, Rivera is OK as a coach. I would say below average actually given his overall record. It's his GM abilities that will get him fired.

The Mayfield trade just proved that.

CAR got CLE to pay a good portion of the salary plus they gave up a conditional pick.

INDY was always going to do business with us instead of outright cutting Wentz. We were the only call they got. They would have been on the hook for 15 million in dead cap just to have him walk. Ballard/Irsay got us to pay 100% of his salary, swap draft positions, and give up a 2nd round pick. We literally bid against OURSELVES and Rivera took the bait.

I don't care if Wentz makes the Pro Bowl this year, there was clearly no need to take on his full salary and give up a 2nd rounder. I understand WHY they acquired Wentz, but I disagree with HOW they got Wentz. If Rivera would have offered to pay half the salary and offered a 7th-round pick, Indy would have taken the offer because they would have gotten cap relief. RR panicked and we got fleeced.

Good point.

KC was the one that got away for sure. If we would have accepted the original offer...sigh.

BS was a stud for us and one of the 3 best linemen we have had in the past 20 years (Williams and C. Samuels). He was injury-prone yes, but there was no reason to hate the guy.
