He did NOT inherit a great team.
However, instead of hiring a GM to help, he took matters into his own hands. He made the decision to cut Haskins and he made the decision to sign Fitz.
He could have drafted out franchise QB in Hebert but went with Young. That was his decision. Yes, he inherited a poor team but he has made poor decisions as well.
First, cutting Haskins was wise at the time. Fitz got hurt in week 1, didnt know what he could of done. Now you are playing MOnday morning QB with Herbert. Even if they did go the QB route it would of been Tua. Herbet was not even considered, you are bringing him up b/c of his success in LA. Young was the better player and i have no problem with selecting him. Plus you had a former 1st round pick in Haskins on your team that never really played and the jury was still out on him. Drafting Young was not a poor decision at the time. Classic that your bring that up.
