I’m turning to the taxpayer midlevel in my mind to go with Melton. I think the Tucker noise may be the Sixers forcing Miami into their midlevel on the Tucker contract so they can come in on Caleb Martin. I think the best bet with the midlevel is Danuel House for me. He can start for Danny Green allowing for Thybulle to come off the bench. Otto Porter I would like as well but think Warriors find a way to keep him. My guess is House though. He has played with Harden and he has to like his chance to get open looks around Embiid and Harden/Maxey penetration. I also think he’s a compliment to Harris who they have explored dealing but are pretty much stuck with.

1 year with a team option for a 2nd? Yes, guaranteeing 3 years? Fuck no.

Players can decline really quickly at his age.

Melton/Harden/Maxey are only guards allowed to play for me. Shake is deep bench now and so is Furkan. BBall Paul has to be a 4 now. His ability to rebound and guard multiple positions is needed. He fouls too much like Thybulle does but they need to commit to working through that with the regular season. He’s the dude in the building that could take a step forward and provide that snarl and energy they lack come playoff time. Niang got exposed defending his position in the playoffs. That wasn’t the case as much in the regular season. Rumor was he was playing hurt…either way, playoff rotation gets smaller.

Even if the Sixers wanted to do Tucker, that ship sailed. The only way is if Harden wants Tucker really badly. Harden would have to decline his player option and resign with Philly for 40 mil range instead of the 47.2 or some shit. I’d be shocked if Harden did that.

I don’t know that Gordon is really a fit now that they have Melton. He fills that role more cheaply and is younger. The more I look into this guy, the more I like. Don’t really wanna do the Gordon or Tucker deal to be honest.

For real though three things should be happening:
1. Harden is working on precision entry passes reading body pressure for how to throw Embiid open.
2. Embiid is working on his pick and roll game to add to his pick and pop game. Embiid needs to learn to rim run with burst. Should have seen more of that post Harden trade last year.
3. Doc Rivers is watching Karl Malone tape to see how Jerry Sloan, screeners and John Stockton got Malone so many deep catches where all he needed to do was work from 5 feet in to score.

Just getting something out of 2 of 3 makes the Sixers a contender.

Green shot the ball horribly last year and is now 32. Prince? I would be disappointed if it’s him. Would even prefer your guy Amir Coffey over him. I just don’t like Prince’s game.
