The NFLPA is a joke. Football is a contact sport. I know it was another era but we did two a days with live hitting in in HS. As an adult I played flag football in an intramural league and a high A league. We HIT!! It is just part of the game. People are correct that players today are much softer. They can't tackle because they do not practice tackling.

Two OTAs could have been the NFL saying FU Dan.

I said when Dan supposedly bought land (the option to buy was the real story) it was a ruse because of all the noise about other owners canning him. He and Bruce were supposedly trying or years to work on a stadium deal and all they ever came up with was a bag of air.

Another point that dad pointed out ... WMAL 630 going to cover the Ravens instead of the team formerly known as the Redskins is a slap in the face of Dan Snyder and the Washington football team. I see I am in southern MD but see more fans in Ravens gear. The stadium experience in Baltimore is better, the owner is a better guy. The only people rooting for Washington are long time fans like you and me.

I see your point, but you also have to factor in that the Ravens are an AFC powerhouse. They have won recently, so naturally younger fans are going to flock toward the winner. IF we had the same success as the Ravens have had in he last 20 years it would just be reversed.

Younger fans like 40 and younger will not support a losing franchise.

Somewhere I read that the Commanders rank 111th out of 124 North American Professional
Sports franchises (MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA) in terms of the amount of fans the team has among other stats.

That seemed high to me, actually, especially since in their heyday, I’d bet the Redskins were top ten easily, despite being a relatively “small market” team.

I’m not sure how the NFl doesnt kick Danny out for that fact alone. The profit from 1/32nd of their teams is WAY down. When you run a multi-billion dollar industry, that translates to 100’s of millions of dollars.

the main factor was snyder . many of us older fans had never seen a winner . from 1945 till 1970 we hadnt had a playoff team yet the fan adored the team .

its the owner , its the wokeism (of the nfl in general ) , the name change ,all the corruption and drama

people are tired of it and simply having a winning season wont change it . it has to be a 5-10 yr stretch of contending

different era and different fan base. I agree with the wokeism, but if we were a consistent winner fans wouldn't care about the owner, name change, or new uniforms. If the winning season included playoff wins then it would change things. Most fans today are band wagon fans. The diehards are a dying breed. I have been a fan since 1987.

maybe but you would lose half the fan base when the "olders " leave . i have been a fan since i would say 1967 when i was old enough to know what was going on . fans from different eras are just the same as fans of today . a bandwagon fan isnt a fan and saying die hards are a dieng breed is foolish . i see lots of twitter posts (50-50 ) that support the team no matter what . if this team were named redskins i would be one of them , now they are the NATS. a half hearted follow

Very interesting conversation, but redefined "wokeism" only makes users of that mis-characterization, wrong. Here's a couple of good examples. @Dean, wrote about how things would be if the team was more successful. He is correct, but denies his own role in being "woke" in pointing out that reality. @dad, writes about factual losses of an older group of followers but he too, denies his role in being "woke" to that reality. So in case you're misusing "woke" (wokism) here ya go... (EOTO)

Merriam-Webster added the word to its dictionary in 2017, defining it as, "aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)." The Oxford dictionary adopted it the same year, defining it as "originally: well-informed, up-to-date. Now chiefly: alert to racial or social discrimination and injustice."

I disagree the new age fans will not stay with one team if that team had losing seasons for like 10 years. Most young fans are bandwagon. If you are a diehard the team name shouldn't matter.
