The last time the Cavs were this good without LeBron?

Take a ride in the wayback time machine to 1995.

whatever you do NBA- just make Darius Garland an All-Star.

He absolutely deserves to be there.

Unquestioned leader and most important player on the team. Other guys might be having good statistical years- but not Ball, not Van Fleet, not Herro, not Tatum or Beal or Young have played better and had a bigger effect on winning basketball games.
How bad is he hurt?

Have to give it up to them, they've significantly overachieved this year. Crazy that halfway through the season, they're only a game and a half out of 1st.

Dan Patrick officially on the Cavs Bandwagon this morning.

Says that outside of those who have to, he might be the only member of the media that actually watches them.

Yeah I'm impressed myself but I also didn't expect the East to be jumbled up. I knew the conference would be strong but I expected a couple teams to run away. A lot of injuries, covid, etc. so it definitely plays a part

Bill Simmons talks about them quite a bit too, not sure if he watches them as much as Dan. I think he is a Celtics fan? I could be wrong

Yeah, Simmons is a Celtics fan. Dan Patrick seems to not have a favorite team (at least I've never heard him claim one), he just loves to watch good, entertaining basketball and the Cavs are definitely providing that.

Nope. That's why I think their best and maybe only chance of moving him is to a team that is looking to rebuild. Next year, he's a $47 million expiring contract. So a team that wants to clear cap space, could move guys with more years left on their deals to get a guy that fans will pay to see, won't significantly damage their lotto odds and will clear $47 million off their salary to use on FA's. for the 2023-24 season.

47m!? Damn that's alotta money. Athlete salaries are why I'll never been able to afford a really good seat at any game.

That's definitely where the pricing model is headed.

Can a shorthanded Cavs team beat a Bucks team on top of their game? Probably not, the Bucks haven’t missed a 3 so far lol

After the first quarter Cavs played so damn good D the rest of the game. Good thing Garland returned to the court after going back to the locker room though. He looked funny landing after the reverse lay up.

His lower back has been hurting him for weeks now. They don't have a game till Sunday so hopefully he gets some treatment, I would even consider resting him vs bad teams if it is hurting him that bad.

Very few, if any, athletes are really worth the money they're paid. And it'll only get worse.
It's amazing how the salary cap, albeit is aimed towards keeping a competitive balance, severely underpays/overpays players. Guys like Westbrook and Wall are overpaid significantly and they're able to command these high salary amounts that eat huge chunks of the salary cap. Then you have guys like Steph, Lebron, KD as examples that are underpaid as they're huge draws and outplay the value of their contracts, usually.

This little break the Cavs get the next two days is a good thing. Seems like they haven't had that much time off in a while.

I got back problems of my own. Would like one of those slick back braces players wear on the bench. My guess is they're really expensive.
