Fly, Eagles Fly
It's Monday morning and I don't feel like working, so I am thinking about calling my employer to pull a Ben Simmons by claiming I need a mental health day.
I’ve presented many realistic swaps in this thread. There’s been leaks of things like Minnesota won’t include Russell or that the Kings won’t include anyone other than Hield or Bagley, two guys who don’t even start for a shit NBA team. It’s hard to tell what actually is being offered and rejected. I’m not against a move similar to the one you posted…but want it to come from somewhere else. Sixers already have a tenuous injury situation with Embiid. They don’t need two more of those in Brogdan or LaVert. This thread and what Morey has asked for prove otherwise
I’m curious if they get more than brogdan levert and a first tho
Yeah I think minny has been so concerned with keeping kat happy and Russell is like his best friend in the leagueI’ve presented many realistic swaps in this thread. We are past the point of him playing this year. If he is traded and all the sudden is willing to play and drops the mental health charade the nba has to suspend him.
The league has to address this and I expect they willThe longer this plays out, the more likely it can happen.
He can say he’s been getting treatment for that long
Trading him now and doing it would be the best way

Everyone knows what is going on, the league can’t look the other way or it will be even worse going forward. I guarantee you a lot of owners are livid. The problem is the league has no right to declare what Simmons mental state is or should be
And again, If he gets traded In January he’d have spent 3 months in therapy. Who’s to say that isn’t Enough?
But trading him now is where you’d have that claim

In other news, Shams is reporting that Luke Walton's job is now at risk after the 4 game losing streak. The Kings have to start asking themselves if their current roster really makes any sense.
Being the Kings...they will likely fire Luke rather than address their roster.
Then, they'll hire another coach and when his results aren't much different from Luke's, they'll fire him.
Meanwhile, players contracts will come up and any players they have with choices, will leave via FA.

Yeah. That's most likely what will happen. Vivek will remain convinced that the Kings can be great with 4 guards and no effective big men and pretend that Bagley is just a few games away from turning the corner.
Its a real problem. The league has to address this and I expect they will

You are not considering how upset most if not all of the owners are at Simmons. No the league probably won’t do anything because they have already shown they will bend over, but they should. Mental illness does not just disappear. Simmons has dug a hole he shouidnt be allowed to clinb out of.No way.
Because the toxic work environment is causing stress that exacerbates his symptoms.
A new environment could absolutely allow Ben to play pretty soon after even if the issues are 100% legit.
He won’t be getting suspended by the league.
