They have no right to any details.

Just that he is actually going and trying

That’s it
Of course.
And they will be fighting with the PA to determine if they have every right to keep fining him.

They are doing what they need to do to make it look like they are making every effort to 'help' him.

Sixers are showing they are working to provide Simmons what he needs to get better.

NBCSports Boston and 98.5 the Sports Hub are reporting that Brad Steven and the Sixers are in a serious discussion about Ben Simmons.

No details, no other rumors. Steven and the Sixers are talking. It's being discussed on Zolack and Bertrand on the tube as I type.

Dan Patrick just said that Shams is reporting that there may be real interest in a trade between the Celtics and Sixers for Simmons. Shams didn't name any players, but apparently the Boston media is assuming it's Jaylen Brown.

Shams mentioned the same thing in his article.

Brown is the most logical choice. They aren't going to trade Tatum certainly and there really isn't anything else on the roster that would make sense for the Sixers.

Optics, bruh.

Not reality.

The optics are that they are unnecessarily antagonizing him to get access to personal medical information they don’t have a right to in order to steal more money from him

I would love a Jaylen Brown for Simmons swap. I think it makes sense for both teams. Also, I would love 4-5 guaranteed Simmons v Sixers matchups every year with the potential for playoff series. I actually brought up Simmons for Jaylen Brown a few days ago and I was getting laughing emojis from Cs fans haha.

I don't want this trade, mostly because it ends the pipe dream of Russell being traded.

I am aware it was never going to happen, but I could pretend at least!

According to Spotrac Simmons cap value is 33 million. Jaylen Brown's is 26.75 million. That's roughly a 6.25 million gap that needs to be bridged. I think the Celtics have a trade exception. I'm not sure how that works. Does that mean that the Cs can take on more cap than they send out? Or does it mean they can send out more cap without having to take it back?

Trade exceptions need to absorb the entire salary of the player in the trade.

So if I understand correctly, the Cs, with around an 8 million dollar exception, can send out 26.75 million in Brown and take back Simmons 33 million successfully?

why isn't it their right to have that information?

Celtics can take back 125% in money though, so they only need to add about 1.9 million. Pritchard would work

Not sure how HIPPA could play a role here. Maybe?
I don't know how contracts work in that sense, but if he is claiming mental health issues, they should be in the know about what he is doing to get better if he isn't going to use their doctors.

I don't think HIPAA plays into this.

My bad on the acronym error.

I'm no expert, but in my opinion, the Sixers should be able to have access to the existence of appointments and whether or not he is being treated. But I don't think they should be able to have access to the contents of those sessions, even the topics discussed should be considered out of bounds. Much of the need for therapy to go next level and drop the stigma often associated with mental health entails a modicum of privacy and the idea of what happens in session stays between doctor and patient.

Thank you! Makes sense. Would rather not have to take back a guy like a Schroeder to make it work.
