Seriously though, what is the end game for the 6ers?

He isn’t going to play for them again. His trade value isn’t going to increase as long as this persists.

What is their goal by keeping him on the roster?

They need to stop poking the bear. He is in a position still to fuck things up.
I disagree

if he is going to continue to be this way (and I don't see him stopping), they have every right to be doing this. He is an employee who is not reporting to work.

I think their plan is to just stay in limbo until teams get desperate to make a move and up their offers. We'll see if it works.

I think their plan is not to pay him if he doesn't play or take some basic actions to improve himself/get help and make himself tradeable. This seems to be the only thing he listens to, the $$$.

Yes he is

And I doubt he is required to use team doctors if he is using NBA players union resources

he is not doing himself any favors here...

but he isn't going to get himself on the court either...so not sure how he makes himself tradeable?

the team will play with him, but the fans will be unrelenting if he steps foot out there to play or be on the sideline

I am pretty sure the Sixers have done their due diligence ten fold. They are going to make sure they stay within the guidelines dealing with a situation like this. For all I care, he can sit for the next 4 years and the Sixers can keep fining him. Do you people remember him sitting out his rookie year and not play until his 2nd year. The Sixers paid him for that year. The fans have done nothing but embrace him thru the years. F--- him, he is the one that f----- in the playoffs, maybe Joelle and Doc just got tired of making excuses for that halfwit. They were tired of excuses, everyone else played hard, he passed up a dunk, he could not hit freethrows why, because he does not work on them. He belongs in the WNBA, but there too, the players are probably tougher than him.

I’m not questioning their right to do so but what’s his next move? He starts showing up again and potentially fucking with their day to day. Send him somewhere away from the team until somebody blinks and you can get value in a trade.

I suspect the league is pressing the Sixers to play hard ball here. Simmons is setting a really bad precedent that the league isn't going to like at all. I would imagine the NBAPA isn't happy about it either as it puts them in a tough spot.

Not this latest bs move by the sixers

That one isn’t.

But overall yes

I honestly don’t think Silver is capable of playing hardball on anything

Mental health no mental health I think Ben Simmons is too much of a pussy to show up for that.

He’s already fucked the Sixers without lube with the whole Hinkie force out and make them hire Colangelo.

Stop it.

His first year was a management decision that benefitted the 6ers tank.

Don’t make it sound like it was Ben’s choice to sit out all that time.

It is attitudes like this that makes me say Philly deserves the drama.

I think you are right in that is what they are trying to do.

Don’t think it will work though.

The further removed Simmons is from playing effectively, the more questions trade partners will have about his desire to play and his mental health.

I just don’t see his trade value being significantly higher than it is today. And it could actually get a lot lower.
