Half the threads in here have posts about coming electric trucks...but no exclusive thread. There will come a time when every work truck will be electric. They're fast, simple, have all the weight over the back wheels and huge storage under the hood.
If it's not your weekend traveling car, then you might as well get electric.

I drove a Lincoln Blackwood for 4 years. It was a chick magnet. Well, Ford has teamed-up with Rivian and an electric Blackwood is coming. I'll take it:

It was. Chicks loved that thing...would walk right up!

Of course, I'm a beautiful man. I think the truck made me approachable.

Would be a tough sell in areas that lose power for days at a time.
I can keep a few gas cans in the shed when it happens but not 240V.
Just saying if you have one in New Orleans you are screwed.

Well here in Dakota's or the plains states for that matter an electric truck would be a total waste of money. There is no way they would even remotely do what I would need to do in travel distance or towing capability. At times in one day I will travel 500 miles. For a town driver maybe but other wise a total waste. Down time to charge versus filling may gas tank right there is enough for me to purchase a gas powered truck. Nothing green about charging a electric vehicle.

he is likely going to go the "well you need to burn coal or mine uranium to make electricity and that's not green"

which is obviously a dumb argument.

I think he is referring to 15 minutes at the pump vs an hour or more on a charger.

And if you are near the gulf you need to charge up and stockpile electricity lol.

I know some might think it's a dumb argument but it all depends on what type of power plants make your electricity. I think there is way better options out there for green vehicles then ones powered by batteries. The tech aint even close to where it needs to be in my eyes for what I do and where I live. GM, Chrysler, and Ford business models are never that really impressive to me because they always react to the short term business model and don't take the time or the research to create the tech they need to create good quality vehicles. I'll ask you this if it was such a great option for green vehicles then why isn't the Japanese vehicle manufactures are not building them.

not sure where "how's that green?" apply to that?

clearly an electric vehicle isn't going to be for everyone just yet, but they are getting there and improving with each new model.
