i think we have some realistic fans . in my opinion you are far more correct on this . you see what i see , a losing football tem last year that puts into question the real validity of the division championship question at qb and a much tougher schedule

lets look at some things , what is our record with DAK at qb .? how have we faired with the giants ? can we beat some of these upper echelon teams consistently . will our defense be as advertised ? can we stay relatively healthy ?

god i hope we dont have just 5wins but lets not act like that cant happen
Talking up a good team is one thing, being one something altogether different. This team has to prove it consistently year after year in order to get just rewards and often mentions in the sports, media, and fan world. There's only one team that gets that without the necessary on-field performance and that's Dallas, marketed as "Americas' team."

Winning the division, ultimately means, winning more games against divisional foes than losses, not being questioned because they can't get beyond whatever it is that the Giants have over them, or not having a QB, in a very friendly league for offense, that's acknowledged as among the better ones leaguewide.

We have likely the best defensive line in the business, their ages are;
1. Young-22 (second year)
2. Allen- 26 (fifth year)
3. Payne- 24 (fourth year)
4. Sweat-25 (third year)
5. Settle-24 (Fourth year)
6. Ioannidis-27 (sixth year)

My question is, if they drafted them with the goal of having a SB level defense, where are the receipts?
Their current status doesn't show well after a season at 7-9 in a poor division. It just seems to be an awful waste of significant portions of these talented players careers. No one can convince me that any of them are satisfied having not won divisional titles, conference championships, and Super Bowls.

I get building your team, and not neglecting the annual goal, generally means taking well considered risks. Current examples are moves made by, the Rams, 49'ers, Buccaneers, Chiefs, et.al.

I honestly hope that I'm wildly off-base in my prediction and that this team goes far towards winning a championship, but looking at that schedule and our QB situation, really doesn't inspire me to once again build up hope, or any sort of realistic expectation about this season. Keep in mind that I've annually predicted finishes that range from 7-9, 8-8, 9-7, on worse teams and as history proves them to be. Put a Garoppolo, Watson, Rodgers, or Wilson on this current team and they're in every one of those championship conversations.

4 months off and not healthy? Actually, injured. WTH? What a waste of money if he cannot go week 1. A groin injury does not last over 4 months. How about getting that guy to a real doctor to see if there are "other" issues than the groin? Perhaps a hernia? I have a better idea, let's wait until 4 days before the season starts to actually take a closer look at this injury to determine the extenuating circumstances. Good job fellas, handled as well as the TW's situation.

Isn’t Samuel under contract for three years?

Has the season even started?

How many games has he missed?

Got it…horrible signing because he missed the preseason.

No one said that. As it stands now, he likely won't play week 1. That in itself is a huge disappointment. Given how inept our offense was in preseason, it would be nice to have another weapon this week. That's all. I have no patience for losing.

Post 84…you stated he was a waste of money if he can’t go week 1.

Post 85…country said he was a waste of money.

A point brought up on the radio today about the number 10 ... the number 10 should be retired or deleted.

Four months for a groin pull is pretty damn long. Should he have had surgery? Lots of questions. If Samuels misses game 1 he likely misses game 2. If he can't run routes at 75% speed after 4 months what is the problem. It isn't like the WTF signed the Panthers number 1 receiver. This is very disappointing. Go Hump and Brown.

Very disappointing, but im ready to see what Brown has and maybe more McKissic in the slot until it fully heals. Does AGG get called up? It might be time to PUP this dude. We are not winning the Superbowl this year.
