He was asked about adjusting to the speed of the NFL game..and that was his reply...that's the short and skinny of it.

Fox-
"
After the game, Fields talked about his thoughts on the speed of the NFL.

"It was actually kind of slow to me, to be honest," Fields responded when he was asked the question postgame, according to NFL.com."

Bleacher report-
"Justin Fields asked about the speed of the game: “It was actually kind of slow to be honest. … Me going against (the Bears’ defense) every day slows it down for me.”

The full qoute, adding the part about the Bears helps..he's pumping up his own teams defense, more so than anything else..still, pretty ballsy after facing the Dolphins future USFL superstars
Yep, seeing that whole quote from Bleacher, he is definitely pumping up the Bears D than himself.

"Justin Fields asked about the speed of the game: “It was actually kind of slow to be honest. … Me going against (the Bears’ defense) every day slows it down for me.”

Terrace Marshall stays healthy, wheels up in year 2, love the best ball/TD potential as a rookie

Tim Tebow released by the Jags today. Little bit of a mercy killing by Urban Meyer, although he never should've given the young man hope.

outside of QB, TE is easily the hardest position to succeed at in the NFL. Having to know not just your routes, your blocking assignments, but each and every line adjustment, protection slide, audible and having to move from outside to inside and vice versa, a TE is not just a guy that runs routes and is a matchup problem for LB's and safeties..not if they're going to be on the field for 3 downs anyways. If it was simply that, guys like Tebow and Big Benji would likely still have roster spots.

Something to keep in mind for those out there planning on Kyle Pitts being there' TE1 this year. I ain't saying he's not going to have some numbers from time to time, I'm just saying, he's not going to be some stud out of the gates. He's still got a long ways to go with the rest of his game to keep him on the field all 3 downs..not to mention when he is out there, its a pretty good telegraph to the defense as to what's coming, and it's likely not a run play.

I got bit by OJ Howard a few times... But that was a mid-to-late Rd pick. I'm steering clear of Pitts

I'm leery of drafting TEs in general. Even the top guys that go in the 1st couple rounds used to have a tendency to disappoint. Like those people that used to draft Gronk in Rd 1 only to have him be injured half the season back in his prime.

TE is tough no doubts. Those precious few that are reliable, cost and arm and a leg, there's virtually no room for a return on investment, breaking even is the best case scenario when you draft Kelce, Kittle or Waller. And there's always a Tonyan or someone similar that scores 3 TD's a game and sets the fantasy world on fire, only to disappear for five weeks, which is about when you finally given up on starting the guy, then he brings home another 2 scores..overall he was great, but in reality, the majority of his points were likely on your bench and there's no reason to assume that it'll be any better moving forward, not with Rodgers being reunited with a former favorite short range target and a battering ram who is no longer a green rookie.
In a redraft, if I wanted a bargain on a TE who might be the next big thing, was supposed to be the next big thing, I'm letting someone else pay the high price tag on Pitts and targeting Fant. He's in year three, he greatly improved on his blocking last year, his route running and hands have always been there, and whether its TeddyB utilizing him underneath, or Drew hitting him up the seams, he's in for a better overall season than his previous 2, because he'll be on the field for all three downs, he's no longer a liability in the run game, and having him out there isn't going to telegraph to the defense what's coming.

Precisely... I rarely go after the TE unless the Kelce's of the world are equal to the WR heap that I'm lookin at.... But I usually wait until the 4th Rd at the earliest lol and in that case he's looong gone. Which is why I get stuck reaching after the Zach Ertz's of the world and end up kicking myself.

It really doesn't seem to matter who you draft if you miss out on the top 2 guys; whether you draft 1 in the 4th or wait until after the 10th or 11th... The variability always makes it a dart throw.

Not sure if you guys caught it (or even read it) on my Matthew Berry spoof thread but I mentioned how I hate TE as a stand alone position.
While I am too lazy to provide statistical proof, I am certain that every single season, there is an undrafted TE that steps into the fantasy limelight to be relevant for at least a year.
I may even be bold enough to test this this out in the MBBRL draft only because I have no intention of wasting a pick from rounds 1 through 11 or 12 on a player that averages 40 yards per game.

just off the top of my head, I would say that that is a fairly safe assumption to make. Waller was a nobody, Tonyan was a nobody, Andrews was a nobody, Hunter Henry, while hyped, was buried behind Gates so he wasn't drafted, Johnnu SMith, Higbee, Everett, Cook once upon a time was a nobody, Jack Doyle had a nice year or two from irrelevancy, Jesse James did his best super nova outta nowhere, then flamed out spectacularly ..its a long list of semi-relevant to relevant dudes who were originally after thoughts, and generally they don't last long.

I have finished many drafts over the years with no kicker and no tight end.

I went back and studied a year I drafted Olsen over Gates. Gates crushed him in total points, but if I switched the two every week I still would have had the same record.

TE is one of the most injured positions in the game, so it makes sense why we see 1) no-names popping every year and 2) little to no longevity, only a few seem to have staying power year-over-year (and they typically aren't regular blockers)

Excellent example of a physically gifted receiving TE who couldn't get on the field for 2 years because he couldn't block...and then when he finally did, it's amazing what Peyton Manning can do for you

Given what's going on in TB thus far in camp..Gio Bernard reportedly being everything that one would expect from a Patriots James White or Dion Lewis, and the tandem of Fournette and Ronnie Jones..I'm wondering if the most recent Patriot trend of multi back committees wasn't more Tom Brady then it was BB and McDaniels. Given what I've already laid out as the Hoodie's long time trends of preferring a lead back, (which is pretty black and white) and the way Michel was used until he was dinged up and then the way Harris was used thereafter - and then Michel again once Harris was dinged up at the end- ..I'm even more of the belief that the Patriots will have a primary back..as well as a passing down specialist of course, and not some 5 back committee, this year. Now, whether that is Harris by virtue of being the incumbent, or Stevenson beats him out, that remains to be seen. But i do expect to see a single Patriots RB getting 15-20 carries a game, regularly, at least as long as he's healthy.
