The only Tennessee player I seen out there was Alton Howard. I couldn't find Santos or Meredith. In the rivals rankings, they now have Bama with the #1 class. South Carolina moved to 14th and Tennessee fell to 15th.

Landon Collins put Bama over the top with the #1 class, Texas will have the #2 class unless someone flips at the last minute.

Lot of talent out there tonight, but these games are really pointless. Big chance at injury too, specifically to the offensive players.

Good luck to all the recruits involved no matter where they choose to go.

I hope for Texas sake that all their commits weren't on the team that got crushed.

Why? These games are pretty meaningless, and really not indicative of anything of note.

These kids had all of 3 practices together.

Jonathon Grey = Malcolm Brown. Both overrated and unimpressive.

Yep, completely overrated and unimpressive.

I mean, Brown only outrushed every player on the OU roster as a true freshman this year.....AND missed 3 games.

I agree. It's only a big opportunity for them to showcase themselves vs the best talent in the country, who cares about that.

3 practices with guys you've never played with. No continuity, especially on offense. These games tend to showcase defensive players. But you really can't glean or learn anything from this game.

It's a meaningless game with no point. All star games in football really serve no purpose.

It is an interesting assortment of talent and some good one on one stuff. Some things can be learned from these exhibitions, but not too much.

Agree. It just always amazes me that people think you can tell by how a player does in these games with nothing on the line, that they're any good or not. Like 3 or 4 years of film is meaningless, because they didn't play lights out in a pointless game. I'm not even sure why they keep score.

These games tend to favor defensive players. Offensive players, specifically QBs and RBs, are at a huge disadvantage. You can't learn any offensive sets in 3 practices, and you certainly can't get any chemistry with WRs. And let's not even talk about OL and protection schemes. Add to that there really isn't any realistic coaching going on.

It is a showcase.....of pretty much nothing but kids deciding where they want to go.

That goes for both teams what you just said, obviously one side handled the three practices a little better. It's no big deal. Just seems like they might have put up a better effort than that in this game.

They should definitely try to balance out the talent from now on.

Eh, our commits were two OL and a QB; didn't get a chance to watch but we've finally got a top-heavy class in the trenches where it matters.

Why should they put up effort? It's a meaningless game. The biggest part of the evening? Showing what kids pick which schools on the sidelines.

The biggest goal of this game is to not get injured, get on TV, and MAYBE make a play or two.

That's really about it. If you really think anything about that game speaks to the talent level of anyone out there, you are sadly mistaken.

Why even agree to play in this game if your not going to try, if your worried about injury, if it's meaningless? It doesn't make any sense to do that.

The way I see it, if you go out there and get owned by guys that are of equal talent to you, you can't just say "oh it's a pointless game..blah blah..we don't care about it..blah blah.."

They're men, they are going to want to compete in this game, we're naturally competitive. Nobody wants to get their ass kicked, no matter the importance of the game. And I'm not dissing any players on the losing team, I just don't like the thought of someone coming to an All-star game against the best competition at that level in the country, with the mindset of not caring about the game at all.

I will not believe that any of these guys went into this game not caring whether they won or lost. Maybe afterwards when the game was out of hand you'd be like.."ah well it's not a big deal"..and you'd be right, but leading up to it and during the game, you want to win.

Like I said, I'm not dissing any of those guys on the losing team, I don't think they are any less of a player because they got killed, the talent balance was really off in this game this year. It was really just a joke about Texas having the most players out there and all of them on the losing team. It IS a bit funny.

that may be true for SOME kids. But I'd bet the farm MOST of them go for the free trip, a chance to be seen on TV, and hang out with ex pro players and coaches. And I'd bet they get all kinds of free swag too.

Seriously man. They have a SET on the sidelines just so a kid can put on a school hat in front of the nation complete with leather couches, plants, and the whole family gets to go.

Exactly WHAT time do you think they put in actually working out and practicing??? They were out with the family and friends having fun. Nobody takes these games that seriously.

If its one thing these games lack, it's a spirit of true competition.
