Maybe.

I'm a huge Believer in Matty Ice. Ridley is a Stud, Same for Pitts.

That defense though. Hideous
It's slightly better than last year talent wise abd Pees is a huge upgrade at DC

Atlanta may have been the best 4-12 team in NFL history last year. They had a plus scoring differential til the last quarter of the last game of the year . We all know how they lost so many weird ass games last year abd going 1-9 in one score games isn't really a sustainable deal

If they haven't gotten any better at all I'd still expect 7 or 8 wins this year just by not having all those weird fluke losses

That said the run game should be better which will help the red zone. Adding Pitts is huge there too. The defense doesn't need to be great. Just mediocre. If that happens I think it's a 9-10 win team given the schedule

Well You have a somewhat weaker divison to

I can see you guys and the Saints, don't trust Jameis or Taysom, swiping places.

Yep. Bucs are stacked but after that no one really sticks out as 2nd best . Don't get me wrong we COULD go 6-11 or so but I think that's actually more of a stretch than winning 10.

Pretty much everything that could've possibly gone wrong last year late in games did go wrong. That's just highly unlikely to happen again.

Giving the ball to Gurley and telling him NOT to score was 1 of my favourite NFL moments of 2020.

If you watched Atlanta 4th quarters you got to see a lot of really weird shit

None of it good for us lol

Between the "who's going to pick up the onside kick " vs Dallas ( blowing a 19 pt lead in the last 5 minutes), blowing a 16 pt lead in the last 7 the next week vs Chicago , Gurley accidently scoring then the D letting Detroit go 85 yards in 55 seconds with no timeouts, the inexplicable end of game turnovers vs Carolina and the Chargers , blowing a 17 pt lead vs Tampa and then dropping game winning int vs KC only to drive it all the way down the field then muss the fg to tie it .... lol

It was brutal. Honestly Atl SHOULD have won 10 games last year . Not COULD have but should have

It was pretty insane

Bills are a bit high, they’re looking good, but 15-2. :L
Would be nice to see Buffalo win SB over Tompa Bay

That ATL/KC game was pretty brutal. Honestly, KC played just as bad in that game as they did in the Super Bowl for a lot of the same reasons. KCs oline play really was a mess even before Fisher went down and you guys had speed on the edge and secondary. Talent? Not so much but you really only needed speed to give the Chiefs issues. And you guys had that game and just gave it away.

I'm looking at ATL's roster, though. I like Ryan to have a good year. Ridley and Pitts in that system should be decent but I dont love Ridley as a #1 and I don't love Pitts as a #1 coming out as a rookie. I feel like thats a pass offense that will possibly be good near the end of the year but probably not near the start. Don't see them having a great run game. Dont see them having a great run defense. Don't see them having a great secondary.

So its a solid pass offense, some good linebackers and...? Its definitely not a playoff roster in Atlanta and if they make the playoffs then I think you guys will get some coach of the year recognition or Ryan might even play himself into MVP consideration or Pitts into OROY. Imo, the Falcons are probably in the 6-8 win range but they are one of the most unpredictable teams year to year so who knows?

Our run D is actually pretty solid but a lot of that is a function of the secondary being so bad teams didn't need to run it much. That said the D wasn't as bad last year the last 10 games or so and if Pees can scheme up some stuff to get our LBs free I think it'll help a bunch ( that's a really solid group )

Offense should be decent imo. Really it was fine last year other than red zone But most of that was a function of not having a run game. While I don't love Davis he's exponentially better than what we had last year. Pitts to me is the X factor . As much as I love Julio he was largely horseshit inside the 20. If Pitts can be that red zone guy we hope he can be I think we have a top 10 scoring offebse . Lots of pressure for a rookie but we will see what happens.

Overall I think the roster is better ( even if marginally) and I hope to God the coaching is better ( can't be much worse). If those 2 things are true and we can manage not to piss away wins then I think we can make a playoff push . Lots of ifs there though lol

I think you might have a point with the rush defense. The stats on that arent too bad but the pass defense is so terrible that its hard to notice.

Arthur Smith going from the Titans to the Falcons is weird to me. I can see how Pitts can fit into that Titans system but Derrick Henry IS the Titans system. Mike Davis as a #1 RB is basically your whole season. If Davis works out, Atlanta can run the ball, it'll open everything up and you have yourself a team. If Atlanta can't run the ball, I think they're a bit of a hot mess.

Pretty much. I don't think running it between the 20s is as big a deal to us as making sure we run it in the red zone though. We rarely struggle moving the ball but our offensive rank pretty much solely correlates to our red zone every year and our red zone pretty much solely correlates to our run game

Yeah, I get it. If the Chiefs can run in the red zone then they're a SB contender and it they can't they're more vulnerable than the past two seasons suggest.

I wouldn't fall asleep on what a difference Stafford makes to the Rams....with a real QB they just might run away with one of the toughest divisions in football....

You could be right...not sure he's elite cause elite QB play should be able to win 10 games and a playoff game a couple of seasons. I watched his last two years in high school (he might of been a ML player, he was a heck of a HS short stop) and have always liked the person & player. The Ram head coach is certainly all in on QB play being the number one problem. It will be interesting to watch the Rams this year.

I think a lot of people are mesmerized by what the Bics did in the SB and they're really good don't hey me wrong but they were still 7-5 through 12 , needed a complete collapse by Atlanta in week 14 to win there and then won 2 of their first 3 playoff games by 1 score

They're still the favorite imo but they're not unbeatable even if Brady staves off father time again
