He was trying to force his way into the resident and it scared her enough to call 911.
What do you want them to call it ..Domestic key misplacement?

The law is set up this way to give women as much protection as possible. Because of the DV, those who are charged are denied bail.
Again, because this helps protect women.

Ok? It still isn't nearly the same thing as beating one's wife. It's a vague charge that apparently applies to far too many actions.

You think the in law's need protection from him? is that why the family has stated they're focused on getting him released?

It's definitely sounding like a drug thing to me. He probably got too jacked up on the addy, drank a ton (which is easy to do when high on that stuff), and blacked out eventually or something.

She called 911.

Richard Sherman is 6'3 210 and lean. I would shit in my pants if he was trying to break down my door.

Speaking Wednesday afternoon, Redmond (WA) police chief Darrell Lowe clarified free agent Richard Sherman attempted to break into the home of his in-laws around 2 AM Wednesday morning following a single-vehicle crash on the highway.

Per Lowe, the domestic violence specification to the burglary charge is for his relations of the address' occupants, Sherman's wife's parents, "not because of violence against any family member or significant other." Sherman was initially pursued after running his SUV through a construction zone and into a concrete barrier where highway workers were present at the time. One of the workers called 911. Sherman's vehicle was found a half-mile away after it was no longer able to be driven. Sherman was suspected of DUI. A blood sample was taken when Sherman was treated at the hospital for minor injuries after a K9 dog had to be used to subdue Sherman

Same reason when somebody tells you they have a Stanford education it means more than if they told you.....a degree from San Joe State,

You'll figure it out.
Ok, so you don’t believe Sherman went to Stanford? Your sentence didn’t make sense unless you meant that straight racial.

The DV aspect of this is inconsequential. That tag is applied only because the encounter occurred between Sherman and a family memeber/in law.

There was no actual "domestic violence." It's a dumb way to label things like drunkenly trying to get into your in law's house late at night.

Still dumb of him to drive drunk and run after crashing in an occupied work zone, but I imagine the DV part of all of this will disappear.
No, but rumor is said one of his former in laws is a former State Patrolman.

So he got drunk, drove, crashed into a barrier, took off on foot, went home, got into it with his girl, stole something from her and then got arrested.

Do I have that right?
I read that he was trying to break into a house, possibly a relative of his, when the roller boys showed up. Then he got into it with them and a K9 unit was called to the scene.

This 911 call is a great defense for Sherman’s court case. If I was married to that woman she would drive me to drink and make me want to kill myself too

I disagree. I hear a 911 operator who has that attitude of someone in a position of authority who wants to make sure everyone knows she is the one in charge and who seems to be more concerned with getting that across than helping the caller and a woman that is very nervous and probably isn't thinking real clearly. Personally I think the operator needs to be re-trained. I'm not a cancel culture guy but she probably needs a little talking to as well.

she was definitely rough around the edges but I saw it as her way of trying to get control of the call. The first thing she heard was “I need police now!” Thats a very urgent call but she just can’t send police there blindly. She needs certain info. Who are they responding to, does that person have a weapon, are there being violent, etc. I saw her more as trying to focus a obviously hysterical person who is not accustomed to taking orders.

again, I’ll acknowledge that her “customer service” skills weren’t great but she was clearly trying to help this person.

He wanted in the house to sober up, that failed, which could be bad, because they got a blood sample, not sure how many hours later that was related to the accident, the longer the better for Sherm had he been drinking …
