My mother is/was a Paradis' from Upper Frenchville, Maine across the bridge from Edmunston, NB Canada. So I'm half French.
I think that makes you half Canadian, unless being from Frenchville makes her French. Most readers might think Frenchville Maine means "American", but the Canadian influence on those border towns is immense.

Question of the day: I read something that listed the Pats QB room as 16th, do you think that is accurate why or why not?

Sixteen puts them dead center and I think its much worse than that. I would say somewhere mid to late twenty's. We have a rookies QB coming into a very complex offense, a third year guy who gets crap for playing time so they must not trust him, and a starting QB that was horrible and may not have the grey matter to run our offense. I think 16 is wrong.
I try very hard not to think about that.....

I think 16 is perfect;
A former MVP who is supposedly improving his throwing motion/mechanics and has a better acclimation into the system
A third year guy with promise who is showing a much higher competitive spirit
A rookie who is highly accurate and a great decision maker.

In other words, could be #1 or #32...or halfway in between.

Most of the families up there migrated from Canada in 1700's and 1800's and staked out their farms. My uncle had 5000 acres of potatoes and no sons. When he turned about 70 he sold all of the fields to Birds Eye and they turned the potatoes into snow peas. I learned how to drive a massive Massey-Furgeson tractor when I was 12 and would go up there to visit and work the harvest. Hard to believe that I was driving a tractor in 1962 for 12 hours a day and the girls would walk behind picking up potatoes by hand and letting them roll into a burlap bag until it was so heavy that they had to drop it. They were given another and the brutes would carefully dump them into the storage carts. The carts were put into burrows underground until they were ready to go to market.

My mother and her family spoke 'Canuck French". Like the difference between the Brits and American English, Canuck varies from the France French.

That's because they don't have a flukin' clue as to who is or is not going to be good or bad. I saw one article where they already have Trevor Lawrence in the top 7. Mahomes was #1, then Wilson, Rodgers, Allen, Watson, Brady then Lawrence. That's before Dak, Herbert, Stafford and Ryan. I'm sorry, but there's way too much personal bias in any of these guys to honestly be able to rank any position.

It's a team game so judging one room doesn't consider priorities addressed elsewhere. With that stated, I think the room is trending up. 25 feels about right, but heading toward 16.

Should private or stand alone schools receive any form of government funding be it Federal, State, County or City?

I say no you are a private school by choice you opened a stand alone school by choice, parents chose these schools over public schools they should flip the bill. Funding these schools depletes funds to public schools.

I think it depends. If a private school is fulfilling the same need and isn't dragging resources away from the public school then it should be eligible to "qualify" for funding. Dragging away means the public schools have an overhead and if they can accommodate all the private students within that overhead. Qualify means they can apply for funding but are not automatic.

Yeah I bet Thailand is gorgeous
Very beautiful. From the women, to the people, to the food, to the culture.

Gorgeous beaches, fabulous temples, beautiful mountains it goes on and on.

But like BK mentioned Bangkok in particular has changed dramatically since I first started coming in the 80s. Now it's like any other major city. You can find anything you want to include the big city smog, traffic and excitement.

I'm serious, on Jan. 18, 2021 I git on the scale and it said 291.6.

I got on the same scale yesterday and it said 251.8.

I'm still big around the middle and in my boxers it's not pretty.

It has nothing to do with image. I'm almost 72 years old, I'm Agent Orange diabetic, have had a stroke, 5 bypasses, a new heart valve. Have severe nerve destruction in my legs and gut from AO and would like to be around for a few more years to see my grandson graduate from college.

I just got home from Planet Fitness. I did 2000 steps, 200 70 lb sit-ups, 100 150 lb. back presses, 100 40 lb short lifts and 100 40 lb short presses.
I'm going to finish here, get a glass of water and lime my front lawn, cut the back lawn and lime it. Hopefull the scale will be at 250 or less tomorrow morning.
Great job BK. Keep up the hard work.

I agree with this.
But I also think if a parent/s decides to put their kid/s in private school for whatever reason, they should get a tax break.

Because part of the taxes they pay fund public schools?

I think every kid should be assigned a chit with the average amount of what each kids cost to educate in public schools. The parents are responsible for turning in the chit to the school every year. The state will then write a check for that kid's education when the chit is turned in.

Private or public or charter the state writes the check to that school. In state or out of state, it doesn't matter. So if the state says that each child costs $25,000 a year to educate, then the state has to write a check for $25,000 for every kid in grades kindergarten through college senior. That's one way to keep all educational costs in line and economic. Including college. Problem with my idea is that certain factions would find some way to make it difficult because it's too easy for the public to see and vote with.

Let's say that in a City A the cost of education is $15,000 but in City B it's only $12,000. After the state looks at what it will put into the Education Fund, it determines that the average allotment will be $13,000. You know City A will bitch that they should get the extra $1000 that City B supposedly doesn't need. And so it would go. The best part would be that any kid who wanted to attend college would have the state education chit as a means to defray Tuition and Board.

But not all expenses are per student. A town needs a school and needs to heat that school and needs to accommodate enough students. And needs enough teachers for each class, and a few lunch prepares and janitors. Take students way and those needs don't drop.

I'm not saying you opinion isn't a good one, it is. There are a lot of gray areas which make a decision difficult.
