White Sox vs. KC Royals - for the Division Lead

Baseball is such a funny sport to predict. The Sox are in 1st place - while their highest paid stars are flopping, or injured and the throw away roster guys are playing like All-stars (Rodon - Cease - Mercedes - Ruiz - and Heuer). Even the HOF manager - who doesn't bother to learn the rule book - is managing like an out of breath clown, but still the Sox persist.

The one exception to the above is Timmy - who has clearly upped his game defensively (his stop last night of a ground ball to Moncada's left to hold the runners to bases full - instead of scoring a run or two - may have saved the game last night). TA also continues to hit - as his BA since 2019 leads MLB.

Rodon - is off the best start by a White Sox starter 5-0 (one earned run in 5 starts) since 1918 (that's one hundred years fellas).

Lance Lynn pitches tonight.

We're all about pitching right now. Just crazy dominant pitching. Loving it. Tim Anderson is literally the only proven commodity in our lineup at this point. Moncada/Abreu/Grandal need to step up to make up for Robert and Eloy. We're lucky Yermin gave us so much early to stem the tide, but I wouldn't count on much more of it.

That said...Who the hell did Carlos Rodon sell his soul to to create this turnaround?

it IS strange isn't it? however, the few times he's been healthy he's always show he has the goods. so it's not THAT surprising really. he just needs to stay that way for a whole season. that's why i'm glad he was removed after 6 innings and 90+ pitches even tho throwing a shutout. don't want to push the guy.
