"He is the only player ever to earn Rookie of the Year, Gold Glove and MVP awards along with a World Series championship in his first two full seasons. Only nine other players have accomplished those feats in their entire career." - from espn

Fewer injuries, more games, he would of been HOF material. Great career though.

Probably the greatest 2B in franchise history (him or Doerr, I'd lean towards Pedroia). I think he was a HOF caliber 2nd baseman, but there's just not enough games played. Pretty good argument to be made for retiring #15. Thank you for making these teams an absolute joy to watch Pedroia!

It was sad to see him wasting away on the bench not being able to do anything... Thought he might return for this season to go out on somewhat of a high note...

Wish him all the best

Good for him, and he was a player you liked no matter what team he was on. Honestly I thought he retired after 2019.

Hearing a lot of people talking about Pedroia being a Hall Of Famer. Seems crazy to me. Other than him not having any of the numbers needed for induction, he’s a lock.

Actually, his humor was often misinterpreted as cockiness. A lot of other teams and players hated him....

From Peter Gammons:

We entered back gate to Coor's before 2007 WS G3. I had credential. Pedey did not. Guard wouldn't believe he played... "Why don't you go to the locker room and ask Jeff Francis?" Pedroia replied.

He had led off 1st inning, G1, w/ HR off Francis.

Should have retired in 19.
Sweet having years of paychecks without playing much.

Another gem of a contract by the Sox. The final 4 years and $50m of the deal end up getting them 9 games total. Great work by all.

We'll call it the Stanton preview.

That’s actually the Stanton PRESENT. What a pile of dogshit he’s been for the Yankees thus far. He’s played 199 out of 384 possible games. He’s now 31...AND he’s still got another 7(?) years on that deal? Ugly.

There was a point I woulda put money on him being a 3000 hit lock

HOF talent that just didn’t do it long enough

I think he homered in every AB this last postseason

health is the issue, not 9 games in 3 years bad, but the guy is definitely an assassin when he stays healthy

still a terrible deal that’s handcuffed the organization financially and clogging up the DH spot
