To have a chance versus TB the Dline is going to have to put constant pressure on Brady or there is zero chance of a win. That has nothing to do with Alex Smith or Heinicke. If Smith can't go then you go with your fourth string QB. I will say this, if the TB Dline does what it could do then you may have to go to the guy who can move.
Yeah, like I said in the playoffs suh usually decides to play football.

True but that is what i expected from the guy and he didn't deliver. He is not 100% healthy but that 2nd half was awful

Then your expectations are faulty. He is what he has always been. A dink and dunker...not that accurate.

i hated the trade from day one , his age , what we gave up for him, i predicted injury , and the awful contract we are saddled with

now they wanted the dink and dunker but alas arent happy with him either

he has a grand total of one win vs a winning team for the 'he's a winner crowd "

again shit you wouldnt accept from KC

KC by the way has a 7-9 record 35 td passes (our entire team has 16) . he has 13 picks ( our entire team has 16) . he has over 4200 yds ( our entire team has 3700) . i dont give a shit about the lazy garbage time stats analysis (which is BS) but if we got that production from our qb this season we have 10 wins

now all that being said you have to play CDC if he is healthy enough to go (he may not be )

You have to give him some leeway b/c of the injury. He was good in the first half. Just finished poorly. A 100% A. Smith would of blew out that team last night

To be clear, I don’t think WFT stands much chance against TB.

But I will take Smith on 1 leg over heinecke in this spot all day.

Yes, he was pretty bad last night. But the interceptions were very flukey. Smith is the best option to win if the defense can play lights out.

And right now who do the (almost said Redskins) have that would be better than Smith? Besides the team seems to be rallying around him. I agree with you... Best of luck!

Even though fans would want someone better than a healthy Smith, I think the issue is the injury to Smith. If it’s taking too much away from him, a mobile quarterback could help and those who Tampa Bay does not have any film on may take them by surprise. Usually those who have success because the others don’t have film have something special or different like Kaepernick did, but you also have situations where players are just different, where people are playing with house money with nothing to lose. That can create more turnovers or it can surprise.

Before anyone else says it, yes, Smith has his turnovers this year. And he had his almost turnover this game, but it’s not something I expect from him that I don’t expect from a new guy.

Smith is a gamer as you mentioned and he is on a mission to prove he is "worthy" and certainly is capable of beating the Buccs as he will do everything he can to do it

My ideal Qb room for 2021 looks like this:

Stafford (Trade a 2022 pick or hopefully via cap casualty)

Allen

Heinicke or a mid round pick

Gotta go vet imo to make a run before the D Line gets their big paydays.

why in hell would the lions take the cap hit to trade or cut stafford ?

Allen is a backup so if we go into next season with him as the starter nothing changes
I disagree!! If you roll with him (Allen) two major things happen.

1. You get to build and improve your team where they are lacking elsewhere and...

2. You create an atmosphere in which you can groom a rookie QB (one who's not NFL ready, like most are)

More than 3 Qb's are going in the first cmon now.
I agree, more than 3 will be drafted in the first round, but I also agree with @dad concerning none being worth their first round draft status. Beyond the two known guys, everyone else is desperation projected up.

Perhaps the best way to win would have been to not chase a 7-9 divisional title. Win games of course, but at some point, understand that the cost associated with your long term future cannot be sacrificed for short term goals.

Ok I understand that there's Lawrence and Fields, although not in that order.

THEN

There's everyone else! ( take note of the gap)

Forgetaboutit KC here or anywhere requires that you build dominating forces on your offensive line and the front seven defensively because he's that type of player. You simply don't win championships with guys like him otherwise.

It seems as if fans and this organization are looking for that once in a lifetime, stroke of luck, do everything, QB. So let me ask anyone here to name one QB who has ever, besides Baugh and possibly Jurgensen who's come close to being that in Washington? (Including Theesman, Williams and Rypien)

Let me repeat this again... the best way to win long term in the NFL, comes with building dominating O-lines and stout defenses first. Too much focus on getting "that guy" at QB over the years, but, it's been validated over and over and time tested that, "that guy" becomes "that guy" when the rest of your team kicks ass and takes names.

Alex Smith should start if healthy. That wasnt the problem with the eagles game.
The problem with the eagles game is that everybody knew that in the second half Smith was injured, “feeling it,” whatever, and couldnt move or throw effectively and RR STILL didnt remove him from the lineup.

This was, I remind you, facing a team that was actively resting 10 of its starters.

While I hope the dline can scare the shit out of brady enough to throw him off his game, it seems very, very, very unlikely that they could do that consistently enough to prevent the bucs from putting an ass-whupping on the WFT, especially when the WTF’s have a gimpy qb who cant throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field and cant escape any pass rush.

If the WTF are truly “playing with house money,” as RR says they are, then the right thing to do is to start AS, then when he starts sucking, put in Heineken because why the fuck not? and see how he rolls.
If he lights it up, then perhaps you have just found your next qb, at a fraction of what he might cost a free agent/draft pick.

Hell, Nick Fucking Foles carved out a nice career out of crushing it in the super bowl of all places.

Stranger things have happened.

This injury has nothing to do with his history of being a drinker...he has never been really accurate.

What Smith was never accurate?. That is his game.
