TBH, at this point I'm on the "getting our ass whipped" side. ( Yup, I said it!!)

Why? primarily because I can't buy into pyrrhic victories. Everyone knows that this was the beginning of a rebuild. Looking at their remaining games, I cannot see more than one more win, two would be a stretch. So at best you're looking at a 5-11 or 6-10 finish and what @Dean hopes for, a division title or what @Dad calls false hope.

What does false hope get you besides skewed notions that you're better than you actually are and worse draft position? I'm not suggesting that maximum effort should not be presented in all remaining games, but when you're a bad team, unfocused on the needed rebuild because you have a chance to win a division title with 5 or 6 wins, NOTHING gives you more clarity than a good ole' ass whooping from a team that's currently in a place that you hope to be by sticking with the original purpose...Rebuild.

Something, I might add, that was rare for years under the former coach.

But what do I know. I have a hard time with Breed’s expansive vocabulary.

You'd think that would slap folks back into reality, but my money's on this scenario playing out.

NY and Philly will lose to Seattle and Green Bay on Sunday. The Skins get ass paddled by Pittsburgh on Monday and the Cowboys will lose to Baltimore on Tuesday. Come Wednesday WFT Homer will tell everyone no team in the NFC East lost or gained any ground and the WFT is still in great position to take the NFC East title. End result being the delusion lives on.

Let’s take it further...

WFT 4-7...Steelers = LOSS...49ers = LOSS...Seattle = LOSS
................it is possible to get to 6 wins IF we can beat both he Panthers and Eagles to close out the season. I expect we lose to Carolina.

NYG 4-7...Seahawks= LOSS...Cardinals = LOSS...Browns = LOSS...Ravens = LOSS (unless COVID keeps LJ out)
..............it is possible they get to 5, maybe 6, wins if COVID or injury takes out a key QB. They finish with Cowboys.

PHI 3-7-1...GB = LOSS...Saints = Loss...Cards= Loss
...............it is possible they get to 5-7-1 with wins over both Dallas and Washington.

DAL 3-8...Ravens = LOSS...Bengals = ?...49ers = LOSS
................Dallas could get to 6 wins or be as low as 4. Dallas has the only game over the next three weeks that is winnable. They finish with Eagles and NYG.

So this is the hilarity of it all. I think we will likely have a division winner with 5 wins. 6 is a possibility, but I think 5 wins is most likely. The most obvious record to predict is NYG at 5-11 after they beat Dallas. I think Dallas is next up with their only victory remaining being against Cincinnati to move them to 4-12. I think we beat Philadelphia resulting in their record 4-11-1 and WFT at 5-11.

End result, NYG win the most hotly contested division in football history.
NYG 5-11
WFT 5-11
PHI 4-11-1
DAL 4-12

i want us to win as many games as possible . to be legit we would have to win our next 5 in a row making that 7 wins in a row . maybe 4-1 .

that being said i dont want us winning 6 games and making the playoffs then draft in the 20's when it should be in the top 10 or so

This makes no sense. Ismael & Charles READY to step in? Really? Why not resign our own and have depth. Why not try Charles at RT? Why not give Ismael a shot a LG? So many combos to try but putting 2 OL players in starting positions having not played any snaps in the NFL is not likely.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah Tomlin. Undefeated team and ends with this...
"We are singularly, professionally focused on the week that lies ahead for us," Tomlin said. "It’s a short one for us, a long one for Washington. We just respect that. We don’t seek comfort. We realize Washington doesn’t care about our problems, or they’re glad we have them. We proceed with that understanding."

Whatever, inject something into it like, we seek no comfort on a short week to face WASH. Just say the league is against your team, and your team going undefeated so obviously the league didn't afford the Steelers time between games is what he is hinting at. Ok, use that motivation for your team this week Tomlin. I guess that's what NFL vet savy coaches do anyways. If you don't seek comfort than why mention it?
I hope we (WASH) is proceeding with, "let's respect them but also just kick the sh*t out of this undefeated team regardless of the back drop stories. For goodness sakes Tomlin, you are undefeated and always crying about something.

You could be right with what you have presented but I learned a long time ago that gazing into a crystal ball is the perfect recipe for being wrong. I'll just say that looking at the remaining schedule for all the NFC teams it appears that wins are going to be hard to come by for any of them. Just one upset win for any of these teams will probably be the difference maker to win the division.

At the moment that I read this, I was like that old Italian guy, pretending to be a native American in the "keep America beautiful" commercial with the one tear streaming down his cheek!

BTW: before I saw this post , I responded to the thread in which you and @Chill have an ongoing thing. Apologies for accusing you of not posting non-combative responses to this board. That in hindsight was a poor attempt to get you two to make peace.

Love beating the shit outta of the Goat-ropers too, in fact ANY team that beats them makes my day better. The question at hand was the upcoming game against the Steelers and speculation about winning that game vs " getting our ass whipped!"

Apologies to you too because of a previous post submitted in another thread before I saw yours here. As I mentioned in response to @Breed, it was my attempt to give you both props for getting your shots in and hoping to spur you both towards making peace.
