The Patriots will fly to Los Angeles for a Sunday afternoon game against the 3-8 Chargers. All things being equal, the patriots should be 6-6 when this game is over.
Historically the Patriots would stay in california especially when they have a game in the same stadium on the following Thursday night. I can't believe that the Patriots would finish a game at 7:30 PM EST shower and then catch a five hour flight back to Rhose Island, travel an hour by bus to Massachusetts and get home around 2 or 3 in the morning on Monday only to turn around and fly back to California on Wednesday morning for another 6 hours.

They will be playing the Rams on Thursday night in the same place they played on Sunday.

This is a game that we should win which is why we will lose.

The travel arrangements make no sense unless 1) your info is not correct or 2) it's somehow Covid related.

On a normal routine week, the team would finish the game and stay in LA and practice Tuesday and Wednesday and have a game on Thursday.

If they don't stay in LA, the game will get over at 4:30 pm PST. The team has to shower and then get to the airport to fly back to Rhodeisland where the Patriot Team jets are berthed. That time will take 1.5 - 2 hours. That makes it around 6 POM by the absolute best time they can get in the air. The Flight back takes 5.5 hours with a fair tailwind. I've made the Boston/LA and Boston/SF flights no less than fifteen times in my life. Touchdown in RI at 11:30 and it takes roughly an hour to transfer people and luggage etc, to waiting buses. 12:30 am EST. The ride is an hour to Fixboro 1:30 am. Not everyone live in Patriots Place so it will take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour for most people to get home. So everyone goes immediately to bed and it's between 2-3. There is never practice on Moinday. It's whirlpool and massage day or sleep and and rest. Tuesday is normally film review and stretching. Wednesday is full practice.

EXCEPT................The Patriots are in New England and have to play a game Thursday night at 8:20 pm in Los Angeles. I don't think it would be a healthy thing for a team to fly eat to west with a headwind on a flight that normally takes 6 full hours to fly. What time is best to get upnd take off from Green? 6:00 am? You'd arrive in LA at 9:00 am and have an 11 hour wait for the game. Since your coming home after the game you won't have a hotel to catch a nap. Okay guys, pull up towel and catch 40 winks on the locker room floor?\

They have to stay in LA.

I own homes in both Los Angeles and in Taunton MA(though I reside in CA). I've also done these flights quite a few times and it would make no sense to do it unless it's being imposed on them. Otherwise, they're staying on the west coast.

The NFL rules change daily on whatever is happening and their response to make themselves look good.
Originally, no team was allowed to be at any site more than 48 hours prior to a game. Then this latest spread hit and they don't want teams staying in one place like a hotel for fear that the entire team will get something. The biggest problem is that they never plan on anything other than what's in front of them. When this originally hit, they should have switched the Raider and Cardinal games with bith LA teams and had them go to Foxboro and the Pats would have had to long separate trips out west. The NFL front office doesn't have the intelligence to look ahead and see a problem.

The Pittsburgh/baltimore game is a perfect example. Another Raven came down with Covid yesterday and the game got moved from Thanksgiving to Monday to Tuesday. If they can't play on Tuesday, the game will be cancelled and the playoffs expanded to sixteen teams. That creates another problem because with sixteen teams, there can't be any byes. Let's say that the Patriots win out the last five games and finish 10-6 and slip into #8. They play the undefeated Steelers in the typical 1:8, 2:7, 3:6, 4:5 format. Wouldn't a FG with 3 seconds left in a playoff game just wreck an undefeated season? They'll bitch about being denied a bye from no until 2121. What happens if a bunch of Steelers get Covid? The vaccine will have been administerd to every player by then so that probably won't happen. Usually, the top team gets to rest up and heal most of the little and minor boo-boos. Needless to say, the Steelers want this game to be played Tuesday.

Changing the rules on the fly doesn't benefit anyone but the league front office.

Wait, you wouldn't prefer to visit lovely Taunton MA instead? Haha!

Most of my east coast friends(I'm originally from Taunton) are always ripping on me living in CA calling it a "liberal shithole". Where we are is pretty nice(Stevenson Ranch) and the weather is epic.

Oh,

Pats 27 Chargers 20

haha. Absolutely not! Though I've only driven through Taunton once so I really shouldn't say much....

But CA is a literal shithole from what I heard... One of my buddies lives somewhere out there and he says the same thing.

They can whine all they like. The answer is being created to improve the NFL as a whole, not target the Steelers. How about they just cancel the season now and take all paths of a perfect championship season away?

They have an up-and-comer in Herbert.... we have a washed-up retread who can't help but throw to the other team. Their defense is going to present problems for this offense.

Not optimistic.

I doubt anyone here can put up a good argument to the contrary. That begs the question: Why isn't Stid getting time?

1) He's not ready
2) BB hopes Cam plays better so he can mine a 3rd round comp pick
3) BB actually thinks Cam will play better
4) All of the above
5) Other

Coaching staff is down on Stidham... unsure why. If they were high on him, he'd be playing, especially considering the passing fiasco known as Cam.

This almost has to be it. Stidham just isn't good. Hard to imagine Bill not always going with the better player(Malcolm Butler benching the one exception to that rule). All that talk about Stidham being the "heir apparent" maybe went to his head or who the hell knows but I trust Bill to choose what's best for the team. He's obviously not "tanking" otherwise we wouldn't have beaten the Ravens and Cardinals.

I've read rumors that it is a lack of competitiveness.
My guess is that he thought he was a shoe in for the starting position and basically shit the bed when they brought in Cam.

Okay how can anyone say " Coaching Staff is down on Stidham"? How can anyone know this? I have not seen a single article to support this. I think this is more BB being bullheaded. Guess what Stidham has legs too and throws a pretty nice ball. The team has dumded down this offense to give Cam a chance. I feel BB hopes to make him marketable and get some trade value for him. This season is a wash and it's widely known why not set up for the future, but the future can't be Cam, but a mid round selection for Cam well maybe.

I just left California 2 weeks ago. The state I loved has really turned into a shithole.
If God was going to give the earth an enema, he'd put the hose in California!

They will not fly home after the Chargers game. They ain't staying in a hotel either.

The #Patriots plans call for them to stay on the UCLA campus for their Los Angeles double dip against the Chargers (Dec. 6) and Rams (Dec 10), a league source confirmed.
