Don't tag me in no dumb shit like that again

This is what he actually said

"but there's always going to be that asterick"

Bullshit. There is no asterisk. He needs to stop crying.

Watch the actual interview. This clickbait crap these sites do is trash
what for? He said there was an asterisk and also tried to downplay the title. Not really debatable, but you can and will try it seems.

He didn't actually. If you want to be stupid and take a part one sentence from a 45 minutes to hour long interview then go right ahead

Context is important.

During his press conference he was asked " How did he take in the NBA finals with losing Bam and Goran in game 1. Is there any second guessing about what if we did have them?

Pat first response is "can't do that"

Pat again while answering the same question " I hate to talk about it. It's an excuse. I would like to win without Goran and Bam at 100% but we just didn't have enough.

"I'll think about it all winter and lament if only. Sometimes that's what you're dealt in the NBA finals and have to find a way to overcome it.

"Yes I would like to see what its like with everybody whole"

Then he throw out the credit to the Lakers that I tweeted earlier.

Where is blaming injuries again? He was asked a question and answer it thoroughly. He does this once or twice a year so he's not going to blow off any of the questions. He gives great detail behind every single question he was asked.

He then throws out the line that everyone took and ran with it. Never even said the Heat would win.

They took 10 seconds out of a 3 minute response to that question to make him look like the bad guy

Oh hell no! Pat Riley wouldn't be saying this bullshit if the Heat won.

Pat Riley on Lakers' NBA Finals win over the Heat: 'there will always be an asterisk'

He sound very angry that his team didn't pull off the upset. Mr. Riley needs some cheese with his whine. Didn't think he was a bitch like this. I was wrong.

lol

I heard about that.

I just have a couple of quick questions:

If the Heat were healthy and won the title...would it have an asterisk because the Lakers were without Avery Bradley?

How come the Lakers 2 biggest margins of victory were the games where both Bam and Dragic played?

Does his 1988 title with the Showtime Lakers get an asterisk because of Isaiah's ankle?

lol

Sorry dude, context actually makes him look worse here.

The above tweet says "Riley won't talk about the finals".

Then the next one says: "They beat us fair and square. They were the best team. But there's always going to be that asterisk. That caveat".

Where is blaming injuries again?

That bold and italicized part of above...that's where he blamed the injuries. He made sure to mention Goran and Bam.

He then throws out the line that everyone took and ran with it. Never even said the Heat would win.

Sometimes, all it takes is one sentence to ruin an entire story. This is one of those times and one of those sentences. He never should have said it.

And if the Heat had won and anyone from the Lakers said anything about not having Avery Bradley, I'd say the same thing about them.

This proves nothing. Now you're a mind reader? That last tweet is from today.

It doesn't require mind reading. The quote is right there.

You can twist yourself into a pretzel trying to defend him all you want. He said what he said. Period.

But you guys keep playing stupid....I'm off this thread

The only mind reading going here is in that interpretation you quoted where they're trying to explain what he "really meant".

and lol @you storming off in huff because Riley got called out for saying something stupid.

My daughters used to do that when they were teenagers. But I always got the satisfaction of hearing the bedroom door slam.

Didn't his Knick team get to the Finals one of the years MJ was out? Wonder if he wants to give that back, too. Cannot imagine there were not others Finals' trips/titles where his team did not face another with an injured stud player or 2.

Sure. Not saying Riley is right here,

But being injured in game 1 of the series and being retired are 2 very different things.

Who storming off? It is football sunday. I have not posted on this thread in at least a week.

TF are you talking about?

The only reason I'm here is because someone decided to tag me

Everyone who actually watched the full interview know what Pat meant. Of course people like you who didn't watch a second of it see this quote and make ridiculous assumptions.
