I like it because the tourney is my favorite sports time of the year. Being bigger is better. More upsets, more matchups and more do or die games.
Well, I think it's dumb.

I don't fault you for that. It's up to each person. Since i don't watch mush college basketball before the tourney, a bigger tourney is better for me.

It wouldn’t matter, my bracket would be busted after the first weekend, like usual

Those 1 vs 80 games seem real appealing.

The good thing is...you are not required to watch them.

It isn't that big a deal. The game(s) are also for the players. In every state, every HS team goes to a district
tournament in basketball and in baseball.

A tournament with everybody in it...allows everybody a chance to participate in it. Allows there student bodies
to attend a one and done tourney.

And remember...the first nite the best 165 teams don't participate. It's teams seeded 166-347. There will be
a lot of good games. It will be good basketball. I'll tell you another thing...you will see better "fundamental"
basketball in those play-in games than you will in a title game.

What did our pros finish in the last World Championship games,,,7th place? We didn't have our superstars
playing and our pros were beaten because of a lack of fundamentals. Those Europeans were better at fundamentals
than our pros.

I'll pay as much attention to this as I do Basketball World Championships, none.

I go to a tourney weekend, somewhere, most every year. Won't happen if they do this.

Do you want me to call and let them know?

UVA could be the first team to lose to an 87 seed

It's the only way UNC qualifies

It's hard to get fired for missing the NCAA Tournament if everyone's allowed in the NCAA Tournament.

I'd make it double elimination so worse teams, who never would've qualified for the real tournament, don't get lucky

A standard 64 team tournament or a 32 team tournament would work.

I'm in favor of 72 teams. 8 play-in games. That's what I'd officially call it. I've thought it should be 16 at-larges, but then I looked at simply going by the bottom ranked teams (57-72) and this would work. The four teams to get in to fill out the bracket in 2022 would have been Oklahoma (18-15), Texas A&M (23-12), SMU (23-8), and Dayton (23-10). The play-ins would've been...

15-seed
#57 Vermont (28-5) v #58 Akron (24-9)
#59 Longwood (26-6) v #60 Yale (19-11)
#61 Colgate (23-11) v #62 Montana St (27-7)
#63 Delaware (22-12) v #64 St Peter's (19-11)

16-seed
#65 Jacksonville St (21-10) v #66 Cal St Fullerton (21-10)
#67 Georgia St (18-12) v #68 Norfolk St (24-6)
#69 Wright St (21-13) v #70 Bryant (22-9)
#71 Texas Southern (18-12) v #72 Texas A&M-CC (23-11)
