To me, Santana, IKF are role players and Frazier not a natural at 1B. All subpar defensively

I have always felt that in some way you could look at a guy and tell whether he was a real every day MLB starter. Guys like Santana and IKF simply don’t have that look. Every once in a while you get a Pedroia or Altuve size wise, but it shows up in their batting stance, how they swing, how they carry themselves.. all that.

I think Santana will be alright with some more ABs, as long as he finds and keeps a solid approach to the plate, IKF is a utility guy that can spell guys in the IF several times a week... Frazier is what Frazier is, 20+ HRs, maybe more, probably with a low average...

I'd also just play Guzman at 1B everyday and give him a 60 game trial, if he can't figure out, this would be the "season" to figure it out

I agree on Guzman. You might as well find out what you have. He has not been at the MLB level that long. IF he doesn't make it this year then move on. Frazier does not fit into our future.

Gibson looking solid, defense did him no favors in the 1st, but has looked better since

Like with Lynn and Minor before him, Gibson looked really good. But it doesn’t really matter as much when your lineup is getting no-hit by Merrill Freaking Kelly.

It’s only 4 games in and numbers will improve, but no team facing Colorado and Arizona at home should have 7 guys hitting below .200 (and 5 hitting below .100).

This might be the worst Rangers offense in over 20 years. Maybe even 30 years.
