You know very little about college football. You know there are FOUR at large bids right. So we get it, Boise deserves to be in. Who are the other three. USC would only get in if Stanford was left out, as a conference can only have two tams. :L

You seem to only talk about the 2 losses the Hokies have and ignore the 11 wins, like most people who don't actually pay attention to college football.

Teams lose....it happens....ask every team but LSU this year.....

Stick to hockey......you are WAY THE FUCK out of your league on this tiger....

You're kidding right. I know USC can't play in a BCS game. Here's the thing though they already beat Oregon in Eugene once. If it weren't for probation they would have been given a second chance to play them in the Pac 12 Championship game. So it would possibly be Oregon out of the picture not Stanford.

TCU won their conference & should have been in the top 16. I'd put them in. They're proven they can play with the big boys. They beat Wisconsin last year in the Rose Bowl.

I'd put Baylor in a BCS game. R.G. III is a lot of fun to watch. If not them KSU.

So that would leave it between Michigan St., Michigan & Virginia Tech. Of the three I'd take Michigan St.

Baylor????

Three loss Baylor????

So, let me get this straight. Losing by 28 to Clemson makes you overrated chumps but losing by 27 to 6-6 Texas A&M along with two other games is good?

Baylor is an exciting team to watch. They go up & down the field in a hurry. Virginia Tech is BORING.

it is a joke that TCU didn't move up the two spots, they deserved to TCU ended the year a lot better than they started, for awile they couldn't play a full game and it resulted in some losses it was an example of growing pains of a young team with them. They probably didn't belong over Virginia Tech, but do belong over Michigan

Boise State getting left out is absolutely criminal though, this sucks

especially when an overrated joke team like Michigan got in, Virginia Tech better expose that joke team like they should.

Win your goddamn conference. If you aren't the best team in your conference, you aren't the best team in the nation. If you don't win your division within your conference, then GTFO

That's a valid point, except for one thing. The NCG isn't the best team. It's the best two teams, and it's certainly possible that those teams are in the same division in the same conference. If only we had some type of system where the top oh, eight or so teams could PLAY against each other. As the teams would play, the winner would move ON to the next round. We could call it the PLAYONS! What a great and totally unique idea that has certainly never been implemented before in whole or in part! Granted, there'd still be some whining about which teams did or didn't get in, but we could solve that by making bitching about your non-undefeated team not making the PLAYONS a federal crime. They got jumped? You should have won out. You feel the other team isn't as good as yours? You shouldn't have lost. Yes, I feel the PLAYONS are a terrific idea that really will revolutionize sports postseason competition. One think missing though, some type of endorsement. How about the Tostito's Chiquita Fuck Dallas Domino's PLAYONS presented by Citigroup? Catchy.

I don't care about who travels well.

so here you are saying it shouldn't be about something that has no relevance on how 'good' a team is..

Baylor is an exciting team to watch. They go up & down the field in a hurry. Virginia Tech is BORING.

and here you are saying baylor deserves it because they're more exciting, which has nothing to do with how good they are..

:noidea:

you're worked up over VT losing to clemson twice, but think TCU, who lost to your beloved baylor (3 losses) and southern methodist should get in instead?.. how can you get worked up over losses to clemson and not even discuss a loss to SMU? TCU's only victory of note was against boise, which i'll give you, is a good win, but look at the rest of their schedule man.. colorado st? air force? san diego st? la lafayette? wyoming? call the ACC weak as shit all you want, VT still played a MUCH better schedule than TCU, and both ended up with 2 losses

arguing for boise st to go instead of VT or Michigan, i'm fine w/ that, but TCU? really?

and the big east shouldn't have an auto-bid, but we all agree w/ that already

Point is, bama got their chance. They lost. the point of the title game is to find thr best team in the country and if you've already lost once to the #1 team within your division withinthr conference, you can't argue that you can be the #1 team even if bama wins. If bama were to win 9-6 in ot in the 2nd matchup, who'd be #1?

Point is, even if bama got a chance during the regular season, they should be allowed to have another shot if they are clearly the second best team in the country (which is highly debatable but not germane to this discussion). The problem with giving them that shot is as you correctly pointed out the fact that it doesn't resolve anything if Bama wins and seems like a really bad idea if they lose. I personally think that a playoff of the top X teams where X>2 is a much better solution. It provides a better level of postseason play, provides a more definitive hierarchy at the end of the year among the top teams, provides more games period (so the money guys still end up happy), and with a rule banning rematches in the first round allows for rematches to occur should teams EARN them. Yes I am aware that instead of teams whining that they aren't in the NCG they will whine when they aren't selected for the playoff, but you can't win them all.

The most frustrating part of this is: you just know 'Bama will win, and all off-season we'll hear about "well, they really just finished the season series 1-1"

At least TCU won their conference. Which is something Virginia Tech, Michigan St. & Michigan didn't do.

If Baylor doesn't suffice take Kansas St. instead. They're ranked higher & Snider has done an incredible job.

Actually I find this whole thing very funny. I don't have a rooting interest with any of the teams I've mentioned. I just want to see good teams play each other.

Instead we have a bunch of bowl games that are going to be bad. How did Purdue get to go to a bowl game? Winning record or not they stink. UCLA is pathetic. Iowa in all likelyhood is going to get it's ass kicked by Oklahoma.

The BCS championship game will probably be similar to the last time LSU & Bama played. Stanford vs Okie St. will be a good game. Oregon vs Wisconsin will be good. Other than those two games there really isn't much to get excited about.
