Miami still pulls out top 15 classes pretty regularly

considering who they play each year, it's hard to argue that they haven't underachieved since 2005

They've definitely underachieved, but the days of them being a perennial natty contender were over anyways.

Okie dokie.
Would love to know where 2% equates to 3 double digit losses. One by 43 points and which he went for 90 yards and 3 picks.

They replace UGA with Vandy and Clemson with Colorado. They get LSU at home in a somewhat rebuild. That right there should be at worst a two game improvement, and with all that LSU loses, I can see A&M winning that. At Bama and Auburn are the projected losses, but it wouldn't surprise me if they beat Auburn, just because who knows if it'll be 8-5 Auburn or CFP contender Auburn. I'd go with 10-2 at this point.

10-2 isn’t ‘there’. LSU capps off the year with back to back at Auburn and at A&M. Wouldn’t shock me to see LSU drop one.

Admittedly, it's going to be tough for A&M to ever win the West, so long as Saban is at Bama. Because of schedule, A&M will never get both Bama and LSU at home so sweeping that during a year is going to be very difficult. Then Auburn is always a wildcard. This upcoming schedule is about as good as it will ever get. I wasn't as high on them last year, but I am much more so this season. They have a lot of experience returning on offense.

The Aggy were a .500 team in the BigXII. Why would it be any different in the SEC?

Got no problem with Kellen Mond.

I'd rather have a confident QB than some dude that just wants to be a part of the team as they all grow and get better.

To be fair, I thought Joe Burrow was talking out of his ass last off-season too. I'm still a skeptic, but you just never know!

A fourth loss (to Auburn) was by 8, but after they trailed 28-10. Had IGA not had its receiving corps decimated, that one would’ve been ugly as well.

That said, Jimbo HAS had some solid recruiting classes. It wouldn’t shock me for them to get to double-digit wins in the near future.

People who say coaching isn’t important, it’s all about recruiting, need to look at LAU’s offenses in 18 and 19. In 18, they were shut out by what certainly was NOT one of Saban’s elite defenses. Burrow looked more like John Parker Wilson than Tua. In comes Brady...

Questions abound. LSU is bound to slip back...as would any school with a season like they had.

Will the amount of slippage be more because of the loss of Brady or more because of the loss of NFL talent on offense?
Was it as much Brady' genius or Oregeron loosening the reins and letting the offensive staff run?

The obvious answer is some of both but that doesn't provide us with a good argument.

I think the answer will lie in how well Brady does when the talent differential is closed and how well LSU does without him. LSU is still going to be talented but Burrow's don't come around all the time. And the talent discrepancy in the NFL isn't nearly as big as it is in the college ranks.

This is it. When Burrow came out with the 40-50-60 pts. a game, I had to laugh. Looking at what they did in 2018, that comment was out-there. Then 2019 happened!!!
Mond, on the other hand has a resume of not much of nothing. If you remember back a couple of seasons in the UCLA collapse in the second half, Mond couldn't hit the broadside of the Superdome if he was standing 10 yards from it. In the following seasons, he hasn't improved much. Some but not much. I don't see that quantum leap that Burrow made.
Also, this coming season, I would rather have the LSU back-up at qb than I had Mond. Time will tell.

Like I said, I am a skeptic.

FWIW, Blake Sims led Alabama to an SEC Championship and set Alabama passing records after not being able to hit the broad side of a barn up through and including Spring and Fall Practice of his Senior Year in 2014.

You just never know!

Jimbo is no Nick Saban.
