The BCS either needs to just go to a 4-team playoff, or add a rule that says you have to win your conference to play in a National Championship

As it is right now, LSU could rest their starters and still play for the National Championship...and we're going to play a rematch against SEC West #2??

I really don't know why Virginia Tech isn't getting more attention this year...the media is so wrapped around Alabama and the possibility of a rematch, that no one else is getting a second glance. Hell, Bama dumped Auburn pretty good, and its some type of testament to their strength. This is the same Auburn that got drilled last week by Georgia...Auburn sucks this year. Most of the SEC sucks this year...Florida and Tennessee? they're terrible this year. It's one of the major reasons why Alabama and LSU are at this spot. Alabama has had two tough games all year...LSU and Penn State. They lost the LSU game. At least LSU has a win over the prospective PAC 12 Champ

There just needs to be more safeguards against the stupidity of the polls...Hell, even if you had a 4 team playoff, if LSU, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State, and Houston all lose their games next week, you'd have LSU, Alabama, Stanford, and Boise State in the National Championship playoff...neither of which won their conference...does this make sense? Does this value the regular season as much as every college fooball analyst says it does?

As an LSU fan, I was really hoping we'd get to play a champ from another conference, not a recycled opponent...ya Alabama is a great team, can't wait to play them again (ho-hum)...sort of thought we wrapped up all that by winning the SEC West

So, what happens if say, LSU loses the SECCG, Virginia Tech loses the ACC CG, Houston loses the USA CG, Oregon loses the PAC CG, Oklahoma State loses to Oklahoma? You'd have to go way back into plus 10 ranking to get the NCG.

lsu v/s bama. IMO there is no scenario where bama v/s LSU doesnt happen. It is basically set in stone.

ya, just a tad...the wonderful BCS scenario we've arrived at sort of makes the SEC Championship game moot...that's fact #1 that is pure crap

Fact #2, is if for some reason, we did lose the National Championship game, we've still had a better season than Alabama...we beat Bama, won the SEC West, probably gonna win the SEC, and we'll have a win over the probably PAC 12 Champs...so what the hell are the polls really reflecting?

since this season, losing =/= dropping in rankings, and we have to look at the whole body of work, as Herbi likes to say over and over....i think if LSU beats UGA...and faces Alabama in the national championship game....it shouldnt matter if LSU wins or loses....LSU should be able to lose that game and still be national champ.

i dont agree with it...but if we're going with the system that is going to put LSU and Alabama in the national championship game, then it is only fair....for the reasons you pointed out, LSU's season as a whole, the entire body of work is far more impressive than Alabama's

It's damn complicated, that's for sure. Never liked the BCS anyway, everyone should be rattling their sabers for a playoff or at least a +1

I don't think the rest of the season matters. If your a true champion, then you win the National Championship game, no matter who it's against. I bet Les Miles would punch someone in the face if after losing the NC game they came up to him and said "it's ok, your still the National Champion".
