If you're in quarantine for 3 weeks as they are in the bay area then i cant be mad at you for buying 3 or 4 cases of water or 8-10 paper towels depending on the size of your family

It's not a quarantine, dude.
Shelter in place is much different.

Shelter in place - Wikipedia

Quarantine - Wikipedia

We're in a shelter in place here in SF, (until at least April 7th)...as are the 6 surrounding counties.

We're free to go out for a walk,(or walk the dog)... take a bike ride, or drive to the store for food, medicine, essentials and necessities when needed. You can also, exercise or relax in your own back yard or in the park.

Our mass transit system is also still up & running.
Emergency services, SFPD/SFFD, and sanitation workers are still on the job.
Most restaurants are open only for pickup orders & delivery service.

Casual mingling and gathering especially with or in large groups and crowds is forbidden.

It's not as big a deal as people are trying to make it out to be.

Is it serious? Yes.

Should folks be taking measures to protect themselves and they're loved ones? Of course. Especially those who are most at risk.

Do we need to be going crazy and buying up all of the toilet paper, paper towels and water (among other things)? Hell no.

I agree.

But, he is going out of his way to downplay this thing with every single post.

If it truly wasn’t a big deal, we would be watching NBA basketball right now.

If you let bums shit all over like they do in the Bay Area, then you’ve got worse diseases than COVID-19 headed your way.

That's not what people are doing though. They are buying far more than that. If people were just buying 3-4 cases of water, we wouldn't be seeing the shortages that we're seeing.

In all honesty, with all of the politicization that's happened with this thing, I'm not sure how we're supposed to know how serious it really is.

And both sides of the aisle are responsible for that because they've all politicized it.

Why is KD getting a test when he feels fine?

Same reason the rest of the NBA has or soon will be tested. They spend a lot of time travelling and come into contact with a lot of people.

If they know they have it, then they can make sure they don't risk passing it on to their parents or grandparents whose immune systems may not be able to fight it off as well.

Really, for most people, getting tested is more about not spreading it to others, especially those who are most vulnerable.

And they're also paying out of pocket to a private company which i'm sure cost lots of money that most on here likely are not have/not willing to spend

Well, Doctors' Fauci and Berksi clearly stated to healthy individuals with no symptoms to not use up a test that someone who is sick can use. So KD and the rest of NBA simply thinks they are more important human beings. You know this, so just let me win.

They're buying them from private companies.

I don't think they're tapping into what is out there for hospitals etc.

My wife has a compromised immune system because she has lupus and my mother-in-law is 85. If I could afford one, I would buy a test to use on myself so that if I did get infected, I would know to stay away from them until it's over.

With the way it seems to be effecting healthy people and the fact that I have no symptoms of any kind, I don't know if I don't have it or had it, but just never exhibited any symptoms.

Dude. Just stop.

Nobody thinks it is killing young healthy people.

But you need to stop pushing your narrative that it isn’t a big deal.
Its not that big a deal. Less than 100 deaths. The virus has been in this Country much longer that the Feds are saying.. total overreaction. The symptoms are alleviated by smoking weed that has high THC. Although I did cough pretty bad last night I am thinking I took too big of hit, not so much the virus.

What the what!? Dammit. I picked the wrong time to swear off anything that has THC in it.
