I'm sure this will rub many people the wrong way but I, for one, I am already sick of this. People are acting like Kobe was a god and all of this is being way over hyped. Was he really that great of a human being that we are going to spend weeks talking about him?
I got no prob with NBAtv talking about it or a thread on a b-ball forum having 5 or 6 posts a day 1week later...

but the Super Bowl coverage has been hijacked by this shit. Seriously?

He died. Tragic.
His daughter died. Tragic.
7 other people died. Tragic.

How many other people have died since? In more tragic circumstances? Less tragic circumstances?

Again, THIS thread is fine and appropriate. But the media in general is acting like Kennedy was just shot. Perspective, people...

Dude, It's been a week. A WEEK.

Kobe was one of the greatest and hardest working athletes in the history of sports in general. He had many close friends all over the sporting world, some who are playing in the Super Bowl today.

As an example, if god forbid, Payton Manning or Tom Brady were to pass away today, I can bet you they'd still be mentioning it in NBA games in a months time. And they should.

Might cool off after a month.

No one is forcing you to watch, grow a pair and use the remote to watch something else.

Yeah. I should turn the Super Bowl off. Shame on me.
If bothers you that much - turn it off during half time and when they are talking about Kobe and then turn it back on for the game. I watched the game without a bit of watching anything about Kobe - Kobe was a tragic loss, but one can only absorb so much about death -

Mentioning an opinion = “bothering me that much”

gotcha

You're the one that is bothered by so much discussion about Kobe. I'm just saying - if it bothers you - LEAVE, because the basketball world is going to be talking about Kobe Bryant for awhile - this discussion is not going away soon. Go over to the NFL and talk about the Chiefs victory - Watch a Television show - there are hundreds of ways to entertain yourself intelligently in order to get away from the discussion that is bothering you so much -

You have the absolute right to be bothered by the discussion - There is nothing wrong about that if that is your opinion, but the rest of the NBA world does NOT have to quit talking about it merely to please you. It's their right to continue.

Have a good day

Jesus who the fuck cares? People die every day... yes it's tragic, and I pray to ALL (not just Kobe's family) FAMILIES who had loved members involved. But nope, not gonna mention any of those people or their families reactions...

The guy played a fuckin sport and hit a bunch of rare athletic gene tree branches on the way down... Jesus you'd think a Nation was nuclear bombed at this point.

You could easily avoid the thread if you don't care. There isn't a gun at your head forcing you to post on this thread
