i feel like we are in a win win situation , we can get a great deal with a team and make the trade and if we dont we simply draft the best player in the draft

I think at this point, grabbing 3 1st or 2nd round picks is more important than Chase Young. I doubt it but he could be a bust. With trading Williams and the #2 pick, we could have four 1st and 2nd round picks. As you said, we have numerous holes.

With 4 early round picks (1st and 2nd rounders) plus adding at least 5 FAs, we could have 9 new starters.

We need to get the Alex Smith issue resolved. He is running around telling around the media he almost died. IF true, then why he is not retiring? He needs to come off the books one way or another.

History has shown over half our FAs will bust

he isn’t retiring because of the guaranteed money and I don’t blame him . He has to make the effort to get back so it won’t be resolved till after next year . If we got the haul you are speaking of then great but until it happens you have to make the pick

Let's be clear, unless the trading partner is Miami the trade will involve future picks or one that's unacceptable in terms of draft position this year. Miami owns the picks that some here are planning around, and that trade will put our team at #5.

We won't get anything close from Detroit (#3) or the NYG (#4), the Chargers, Panthers, Cardinals, Jaguars, and Browns all have one selection in the first round, so there's your future options and no help this year. Anybody really want to move out of the top 10 this year? Hell, into the top 6-7 doesn't appeal to me.

why force a bad deal ? if you get the kings ransom then LT can be drafted

It wouldn’t be just 3. First round picks . It would be more . Add 2. 2nds ( this year and next. ) and a 3rd

Detroit will take Young without question. The bigger need if the choice is between QB and defensive end for them is defensive end. (Matthew Stafford's health questions don't seem to be an issue, see below)



Then there's the question of compensation to move up one spot which won't result in any sort of "haul" for arguably a once in a generation difference maker. Followed closely with the question of who to take with Young off of the board.
