My father took me to see Seals & Croft in the 70's, don't know how old I was. The opening act was this chick Minnie Ripperton.

lol … I used to absolutely hate when her song "Lovin You" would come on the radio when I was a teen. :puke:

Shit, just thinking about the place I saw Cheap Trick at reminded me that I did see another band there a few years earlier. Probably not heard of by most of you. Every Mother's Son. Had one song made radio play

Rory Gallagher....after an hour of research :noidea:
my first concert was Rush Signals Tour in 1982 Rapid City, SD....Neil Pert is what I remember...and that we sat in in the upper deck......learned that sucked and for the next few concerts it was on the floor getting up to the stage or die trying.....

I was working at the college radio station, a tiny low-power station called WTBS. Ted Turner paid us a shitload later for those call letters.

Anyway, we got complementary radio station tickets. This was a typical tiny mid-sixties club in Boston. I think the opening act was a guy I'd never heard of, but looking back it might have been Van Morrison.

The main act was an up and coming West Coast group called The Jefferson Airplane.

I think the club maybe held a hundred people.

Cheap Trick early 70s

I want you to want......ME!

First album I bought had that song on it.

Fist live for me was either Hank Jr. at Six Flags or Corey Hart, who opened for Rick Springfield. All the chicks wearing some tight ass jeans and those fluorescent shirts.

I'm embarrassed to say mine, but I was like 5 years old.

Trace Atkins opened up for Kenny Chesney at a tiny outdoor venue that no longer exists before either of them were big acts.

Probably my first 50 concerts were at that venue with my step grandma, most of them were better than that. Saw and met George Jones there numerous times growing up.

My first major venue show was Jamey Johnson when he opened up for Hank Williams Jr when I was 18.
My parents took me to see the Statler Brothers at the County Fair, I was in elementary school. But first major concert was U2

I wouldn't cross the road to see U2 play for free.

Rolling Stones at RFK 4th of July '72. Stevie Wonder opened. Tickets were $10. All general admission. There was a big crush at the gate and they had to open things up earlier than they'd planned. It was nuts. My buddy got jammed up in the crowd for several minutes or I would have been right down front, but we wound up halfway back on the infield. Might be best my concert ever, too.
