Interesting decision there. He had a monster year. Not sure coming back was necessarily the best choice.
Didn't I read somewhere that this draft class is full of very talented WRs? In fact, I think the discussion was the teams wouldn't "reaching" for WRs because there are so many good ones that there would be several available later in the draft. That may be part of the reason some WRs are returning.

That's true. But it's one thing to gamble on talent. It's another to gamble on talent and health (I know anyone can get hurt, but with a history...)
Personally I’d rather gamble on someone I know has talent coming off a serious injury than gamble on someone who probably doesn’t have the talent to be a franchise QB.

But I don’t make those calls

And with the number 3 pick, the Detroit Lions select, from Alabama, Tua Tagovalioa.

Assuming there isn’t a tight end they really, really want.

And it is hard to figure out which ones are what.

Some of the historically good NFL QBs come from what one might consider the "less than elite" college programs. Just looking at this year's playoff teams, only Brady and Watson are from those. The rest are from:

Bills - Allen (Wyoming)
Ravens - Jackson (Louisville)
Packers - Rogers (Cal)
Chiefs - Mahomes (Texas Tech)
Vikings - Cousins (Michigan State)
Saints - Brees (Purdue)
Eagles - Wentz (ND State)
49ers - Garropalo (Eastern Illinois)
Seahawks - Wilson (Wisconsin)
Titans - Tannehill (A&M)

Ditto. If I had to choose between an injured Tua and a healthy EJ Manuel...and literally bet my career on it, EJ's phone is never ringing. But, I didn't think Manuel had ACC talent, let alone NFL talent, so I might be biased.

Bo Nix has as many Iron Bowl victories as Tua.

Just FYI.

Sometimes I think it is easier to showcase your talent and truthfully to hone your craft if you're being chased around all day throwing to shit receivers at a less than stellar football college. Not that all of these guys were throwing to shit receivers, but they certainly weren't throwing to a bunch of highly recruited 4 and 5 stars...or being protected by the same.

On the flip side though, the HOF is full of guys like Montana, Namath and Manning that went to factories.

Yup, four targets were awesome this year, but these two are enough to be deadly.
I think it is a good decision for him. How much did a great line and 4 excellent receivers help his great year. If he played for Arkansas would he be graded as high. He might see a problem with a lesser number of great receivers next year. His injury will knock him out of the top level and even the first round. But if he is drafted with same mindset that the Patriots drafted Jimmy G it might be great for his career in the long run. I could see him carrying clipboard for a year or two (and totally healing) before taking over for a veteran who is near the end of his career.

10 win season is a great season. I'm positive that UCF will continue our Rise to Dominance. While Bama falls back to mediocrity

#UCFacts

Bama has won National Championships in 8 different decades, The last time we had a decade without a 10 win season nobody was playing 10 games, we have never been mediocre, so we can't fall back to mediocrity.

UCF on the other hand...

I agree, we need to win it every year Bryce is the QB, no more excuses.

lol. I saw him play as a freshman and sophomore at my former HS before he transfered to Mater Dei and while he was fun to watch I could never Imagine he's go on to be one of the top HS QBs in the country.
