Objectively, no one wants to coach at Michigan. They were lucky Harbaugh was an alma mater. Maybe they can lure Charles Woodson away from whatever the fuck he does to coach after Jim leaves.

And seriously @craigk217 the closer I examine it, Notre Dame has been inconsistent as hell since the tail end of the Lou Holtz era and has played for a single national championship in that time (2012) in which they were drubbed... You are not far removed from a 4-8 season, and this under a STABLE regime...

FSU hit a bad patch over the last 4 or so seasons which saw us have our first losing season in 40 some odd years!

We made a bad coaching hire for sure... We'll see where we go from there, but whatever.... Again, I acknowledged from the get go that the range you are "laughing" about is VERY fluid and subjective.

Yeah, but it's your first and only name. If you didn't want to be mistaken for a 12 year old little girl, you should have made your handle 'Walter'.

If you talk like you type, then you are extremely close to having the maturity of a 12 year old little girl.
Would it make you feel better if I said 14?

@craigk217 and I were having a fairly mature discussion until he decided to flap his arms, take his ball and go home at post #36... Then started just to respond with "ratings" (Like a real man does, I guess?). And yeah, responded in kind. He clearly thinks that a top prospect from Lakeland, Florida gives a crap about "The Four Horsemen" en sech.

Honestly, (not sure why I bother repeating this as neither you nor him seem to have read it the first 10 times) I can justify putting Notre Dame as high as 10. I can also justify putting Texas A&M up at 10 (Have them at 15). That is how close I viewed that group of teams for varying reasons. I think you all underestimate the difficulty of convincing a recruit from the South to come to South Bend over staying home... Notre Dame's lore is the ONLY reason it has been successful in doing so, otherwise they are... Well... They are Nebraska. :D

Anyway, as for you, I'm still not sure quite what your deal is, but then... I don't much care either.

If I can get a "Yeah, but Nebraska" distraction to my posts, I figure you can no longer support your gibberish.

Florida St is not even close to being in the same league as Notre Dame as a destination job. Urban Meyer would go sideways to Notre Dame. He wouldn't consider going backwards on the CFB tree to somebody like FSU.
Florida was an Urban Meyer stepping stone to Ohio St.
Florida is 36-27-2 against FSU.

You're dismissed, Miss Payton.

Don't know what your infatuation with Urban Meyer is exactly, but don't let me get in the way... (BTW, ya know he's like FROM FUCKING OHIO, RIGHT?)... Also, FYI... He had the chance to leave Florida for Notre Dame in 2009. Guess what he DIDN'T DO.

He left Florida for medical reasons supposedly. It was a year later he became the coach at Ohio State.

But to make sure I have your brilliant take correct, I'm guessing you think Meyer rejected Notre Dame, staged an illness to leave Florida to get to Ohio State, staged the whole spousal abuse thing with Zach Smith so he could later feign illness so he could leave Ohio State because he REALLY wanted to be at Notre Dame all along, even though he had spurned that job 10 years prior?

Gotta say, it is hard to keep up with your dazzling intellect!

Honestly, if you're schtick is to simply pull a single line out of a post where I'm explaining my point quite clearly, in order to ignore it and go off on your own whacked out tangents, I'm not sure why I'm bothering with you. It is clear you have no interest in an actual discussion.

I'll futilely repeat for a 15th time. I don't have a major issue rating Notre Dame over FSU. I provided MY reasoning for putting them one slot above (And your claim that it is "Nowhere close" is just stupid. Welcome to the 21st Century!). If you'd care to take a gander at Notre Dame's track record since the mid 90s, maybe you'd understand a bit better my hesitation to rate them higher, but "Golden Dome, Touchdown Jesus, Knute and the Four Horsemen!!!"... Yup, that's all kids care about these days... LOL!

ND’s money and history make it an attractive coaching spot, but it’s easier to win at Florida State.

Georgia is too low, and it's not really a homer statement. We're the 4th best state for football recruiting, first if you go by per capita, and unlike Florida, Texas and California, our only major program competition in state is a nerd school that ran the triple option for the last decade.

The downside to UGA (I realized this when I moved here in 2008) isn't the in state competition for recruits, it's the amazing programs within driving distance. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida St. and to a much lesser extent LSU. Georgia is most definitely a hotbed of talent, but it is also surrounded by the best programs of the past 10-15 years. All those teams above have won a national title in the past 15 years, and a few have won multiple. Georgia hasn't been able to cross the bridge in 40 years.

Georgia could easily flip the script in terms of program dominance, but it really needs Bama, and Auburn to go through a cold period. Smart has definitely done a better job at getting most of the the top talent of the state, but it won't last if they don't win a national title soon. Fortunately for UGA, I don't see Saban lasting too much longer. Perhaps he will pull a Joe Paterno and coach for a while longer, but I think it's more realistic to think he is just a few seasons away from stepping away. Bama could take a big step backwards if he were to leave. Just my opinion.

I agree with this. I think ND's best days are behind it. It's too hard to keep a high academic standard and win in football these days IMO. Also, I really think weather plays somewhat of a factor (although Ohio State has proven that weather isn't that big a deal in recruiting players). I think it is easier to get players to stay south knowing the weather is likely going to be perfect in October and November....although it is BRUTAL in August and September. I think most people would choose too hot than too cold, but I don't know if there is any evidence to back that up.

Well, if money is the issue, Texas has the biggest budget.
If winning is more important, then Boise State would be the best, they've got the highest winning %.
If tradition matters most, then go with Michigan.
If believing that you are the best is what matters most, then Alabama.
If all four matter, then it's Ohio State, they are top 5 in all of those categories.
