ND barely recruits in Indiana … they go to national hotbeds and are very effective at getting talent from those.

You're talking one of the top blue blood places of CFB lore & prestige.

No way, an FSU goes in front of an ND job, unless ya hate the cold, harsh winters vs a sunny, cushy state.

Southeast Football just....

IS.

Again, I can certainly make a case for Notre Dame over FSU, Auburn and Michigan.

But I think your last comment basically tipped the scales for me. Again, does all that "lore" really do much for today's recruits? It's South Bend, Indiana.

Since the list is about recency, how da hell does USC even make Top 20?

You missed the other criteria. Recency matters of course, and USC isn't THAT far removed from their time as a juggernaut.

Huge loss for an entire half, bro. :tsk:

It looked like both players were goin at each other that play and Pickens shoulda been using his head thinking of having to play LSU next. I know it's tough walking away during a heat of the moment type stuff, but … dayum.

It sucks, but Cager being out is a far bigger blow. But at the end of the day, our defense will determine if we win or lose next week regardless.

If Georgia ever got a Lincoln Riley, Swinney, or Urban Meyer they could be unstoppable. The recruiting grounds are unbelievable and there is more than enough financial support to hire top tier coordinators. Smart is too stuck in the mid 2000’s.

You spelt Nick Saban wrong.

You don't know much about ND, tradition & lore, I guess. They're a fng blue blood program.

You'd be surprised what these kids, when visiting for recruiting, get caught up in that stuff. You've, obviously, never been to an ND home game to see what transpires … especially when they're hosting a bunch of recruits. They put on quite the 'presentation' using that tradition & lore leading up to a game day experience. Guess what … it's pretty effective, since we consistently rank top 15ish+ in recruiting nearly every year. Not bad for some small, private Catholic school with very strict academic standards.

Yeah … Tallahassee is nice & warm and the talent pool is much better down there than the local stuff around here. It's why ND goes national and draws great recruits that want part of the ND experience & getting a top level education.

Yeah … what's the deal with Cager?

Hurt his ankle pretty bad in practice earlier this week. He's out for the SECCG, and it's iffy at best if he'd be ready for the playoffs/bowl game.

Saban is on the downhill side of things and they already tried that with Smart.

I think you are selling Kirby a bit short too. This is three straight 11 win seasons, and he is more accomplished than Riley, beat him head to head in the playoffs.

Jeeezus … yall in trouble.

Don't they play the SECCG in Atlanta every year? If so, at least ya might get a little home cookin/field advantage.

I'm well aware of ND tradition and it is the reason they are where they are... But kids like to stay close to home often times and it is a HUGE factor in recruiting.

And FSU can now point to a solid 35-40 or so years of quality football tradition... How far do you think kids want to travel back in their time machines to "Wow" them?

A single win does not make one more accomplished. Riley has won two straight conference titles and is going for a third as a head coach. Both are pretty young in their head coaching careers. The question is, which one can get over the hump?

I don't think we're in trouble. You can't stop an offense like LSU's, but I think we can slow em down dramatically, and the TE's and RBs have been getting more involved in the passing game.

Lincoln Riley does not belong on that list. PERIOD!!!!

Riley is the best offensive mind in college football and is an innovator. He hasn’t accomplished the things those others have yet because he inherited a shit defense from Bob. I’m not putting him on their level yet, but if you drop Riley into Athens tomorrow with their recruiting I’d bet you anything he has them in the CFP more years than not and winning a national title within 4 years.

Yer right, Payton.

FSU is, clearly, a better place to land a job, cuz of your reasoning and it's not a thing to do with some nice weather & homerism.

I'll just continue laffn.

Well, I will say yall's D is looking a whole lot better than LSU's 'vanished' D. Your D is what will make or break the game, IMO, cuz LSU's D has been exposed and I just don't know wtf Aranda has got goin on down there. Not a typical LSU D for sure.

In 3 seasons, Lincoln Riley has lost to Iowa St, tejas, and Kansas St.

At BEST a comparison to Smart would be even.

Geezus you're a sour puss... Not sure how many times I can say that I can make a case for any order between 10-15 in my list, but yeah, I'M the homer...

For your edification:

2018 recruiting classes

Notre Dame 10
FSU 11

2019 recruiting classes

Notre Dame 16
FSU 19

And this is with us playing like steaming turds and in turmoil, while you all keep putting up your scintillating 9-10 win seasons...

Notre Dame has a fantastic tradition and national brand... Not sure how much more credit you want for it. ?

Fine, put Notre Dame ahead of FSU... does your butt hurt a little less now?
