Mamba crawls out from under that rock and boom Oregon beats the Huskies and become kings of the north. Coincidence ? I think not. lol. I'm just grateful to see less pictures of Petersen and the mistake on the lake .

Welp, don't look now, but somehow my Trojans are in the drivers seat for the PAC South.

It may end up looking like this:

But we're in the damn drivers seat.
If USC can get some bodies back I'd rather see them than Utah or ASU from the south. At least the potential to be a more dangerous team at the end of the year, and that last week bye would mean something.

Whatever way that game against Huskies turned out or the game against your Trojans and for that matter how the season turns out, I have the same approach. It’s fun to talk sports with a level head.

After half time it was like a mash unit. RBs and defense dropping like flies. lol. But it was nice to see Stepp come back to the sidelines and even go back for a play. Drake Jackson had a boot on his sprained ankle so that's at least a couple weeks. They can make it a great game if they get to the CCG healthy.

And Utah plays at Washington in 2 weeks, Washington going into that game after a bye.

That game is going to be a doozy.

True. I think I'm a little more frustrated than some of my fellow Trojan fans these days. Being at the game you could see how USC has much better players than most teams they play and with this coach they never have scores like the one they just had. It was nice to dominate a team you should beat easily for a change but it's a rare occurrence and they still did some stupid play calling. I only watched a little of the Oregon Washington game and there didn't seem to be a huge difference in the teams of terms of talent.

On the field the eye test says they were very much equaled. Recruiting rankings aside, that’s a very good thing for Oregon long term.

Whos your QB when Herbert leaves?
Tyler Shough from Chandler AZ. He was a 4 star pro style. He’s like 6’5 220. So basically a Herbert type player with essentially the same size. Not sure how good he is.

Yeah, the talent is there to still win the PAC. But they have to get healthy and get a little momentum.

Despite the talent, I expected them to be right about where they are now because of getting used to a new system and coaching staff as well as being young in spots that you really don't want to be (like the defensive backfield).

The schedule was frontloaded, so that should help. Oregon and ASU look to be the biggest threats.

To be fair, that 3* was coached up by Kurt Warner.

To be fair I'd still suck if I was coached up by Montana and Brady with Kurt Warner helping them. Kurt did say Slovis learned to read defenses early in HS. That had to be really helpful and give him a leg up. I'm really liking him. I was at the game Sat night and while he had a cpl throws that I'm sure he'd like to have back I never saw him make any bad plays.

The QB battle next season should be really interesting. JT wasn't bad last year and he was looking really good when he got hurt this year.

I don't know why exactly but I don't like him as much as Slovis. I think one of the things is when Slovis gets pressured he don't try to do too much. He will throw the ball away or just take the sack. Daniels seems to sometimes turn bad into worse. Arm strength I like Slovis better too. If Slovis keeps it going I don't think Helton will have much of a choice because Harrell will want Slovis I'm thinking.

I think that, because of the coaching from Warner, Slovis came in and was likely better, or at least as good, as Daniels at reading defenses.

I can see the point to an extent about Slovis, but I think JT is better than some give him credit for. I think USC going 5-7 last year is being put on him more than it should be.
