Will they actually pull it off this time? Is Miami's perfect season meant to be broken? Are those players dead yet that wouldn't accept the Pats breaking their record in 2007? What makes anyone believe otherwise that those players would accept it now?

What do you mean accept it?

Their schedule has to get a little tougher at some point doesn't it?

It's not going to happen, I wouldn't be surprised if it dies this week. They've yet to play a top 25 QB (Jury is out on Daniel Jones) knowing Ben was hurting going into week 1.

16-0 is still exceedingly unlikely.

Oddsmakers have seen enough of the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins to think that one team could go 16-0 and the other 0-16 during the 2019 regular season.

The Dolphins have odds of +350 to get skunked in 2019 while the Patriots are +1000 to finish the regular season 16-0, a feat they last achieved in 2007.

Both of these props are feeling like real possibilities so let’s break down the Patriots’ remaining games, predict the spreads and their final regular-season record:

16-0 and 0-16: The Patriots and Dolphins’ Odds to Repeat History

Patriots have too many injuries right now, and an offense with little weaponry at the moment. I would say it's not likely they will go undefeated. They have some tough games coming up.

Who gives a fuck if those old wrinkly mother fuckers “accept” it. They just need to worry about who’s changing their adult diapers later today.

They haven't played anyone yet.

In November they start to play a tougher schedule. I doubt they finish the season undefeated, I remember that 2017 season which had a much better team had to pull off some crazy last minute wins later in the season because every game turns into the other team going all out trying to give them their first loss. Difficult to hold up, especially when they will start playing a real schedule.

Patriots will lose the superbowl: Goff gets injured, Eli traded to the rams, throws for 4 TD's and LA wins in overtime.

I'm thinking 14-2. Or possibly 13-3 since they may well have the #1 seed wrapped up early.

I think Belichick will spin a couple of weird deals before the 29th and put enough into the offense to win.

Anyone they play is going to have to score against this defense and no one has been able to score more than 7 points against it.

The Patriots historically get better and tougher after Halloween.

Their schedule has to get a little tougher at some point doesn't it?

In 2007, the Dolphins players did not want it to happen. Don Shula thought their season should have an asterisk (spygate). After the Giants won, all those Dolphins legends were on the phone with ESPN talking about how relieved they were NE didn't win.

I get not wanting it to happen. What exactly does accepting it mean though?

Who the fuck cares about those old Dolphins. The franchise has never won shit since those days. One SB run with Marino and fuck all else but mediocrity. As for 16-0, frankly, I doubt it but I don't much care either. The AFC will have to try and win in Foxboro in January in all likelihood. Whether it's 16-0 or 13-3 or some other combination is mostly irrelevant.

I mean, Brady is really damn old and it's not hard to imagine how that could end given his age, whenever that inevitably happens. The Dolphins flat tanking makes a lot of sense given that trying to outcompete the rest of the AFC East, but especially the Pats, is just plain stupid with their roster in shambles. Take a mulligan, get a cheap QB ready. This makes a hell of a lot more sense than most anything they've done since I've been alive.

13-3. They lose to the Jets, Eagles and Chiefs. They still grab the number one seed.
