Would Clemson get in with one slip up? I am of the mind Clemson and/or Bama are essentially a lock with one loss.
They play in the weakest P5 conference this year. So no.

Maybe so, but we all know that a room full of people can convince themselves of anything. This committee deal is a sham and the walls will come tumbling down soon enough. I just hope when it does, LSU isn’t impacted by it.

Clemson vs. Clemson
Dabo Swinney is just like nearly every coach in the country when it comes to preaching the importance of playing to a program standard. But nearly every coach in the country would love to be in Swinney's position, where playing to Clemson's standard is the toughest challenge left on the 2019 schedule. Simply put: Clemson is Clemson's toughest opponent remaining in 2019.

The No. 3 Tigers' playoff pursuit will be painted as a breeze and their merit will be debated once the CFP Selection Committee begins to release its weekly rankings next week, but achieving a 13-0 record is going to be tremendous test of focus and mental toughness. There is no margin for error in the loss column because of the wide-ranging field of contenders and a schedule that might not have a single team in the top 25 of the CFP Rankings on Selection Sunday. The committee is tasked with choosing the "four best teams," so I think an undefeated ACC champion Clemson is a lock to make the playoff, but any one loss puts them in a far less exclusive club of contenders where the tie-breaking metrics might not work in their favor. But if Clemson plays to the Clemson standard in each of its remaining six regular season games and in the ACC Championship Game, it will be back in the playoff for a fifth consecutive season.

As an Ohio State fan we’ve obviously been on both sides of the equation. But past two seasons we’ve had more quality wins than Clemson will be able to gain based on their schedule and both times left out with only a single loss, albeit bad losses. But I think most any team Clemson loses to will be a bad loss based on who they have left.

The B10 has a better shot of getting 2 than the SEC does imo especially if the Wisky vs OSU game next week is close. B10 will likely have 3 of the top 6/7 in the first committee rankings

Odds are only one team at most will go undefeated. If that team is Alabama, and LSU's only loss is to Alabama, I could see 2 SEC teams getting in. Or, if we're left with a gaggle of 1 loss teams, 2 could get in.

I'd guess Wisconsin has to beat OSU for that to happen.

Maybe . Maybe not . Committee poll will likely look dramatically different from the regular polls this year . 2 of the top 3 in the regular polls are only there based in preseason placement and neither has a legit test prior to the first committee poll.

A Clemson loss to any ACC team would be bad unless the other ACC teams start winning. I feel a one loss Clemson team would be out based on what the ACC is as of now. Would they let Clemson in based on what happened in the title game last year? Clemson isn’t battle tested. They could get waxed this year.

There are definitely a couple scenarios that could put the SEC Conf. Champ and a 1 loss second team in. Teams I don't see a 1 loss second team bumping...

1. Undefeated ACC champ
2. 1 loss PAC champ
3. Even a 2 loss BIG champ
4. 1 loss Big 12 champ

At least one of these will be worse by years end, if two are worse we could rightfully get a heavy dose of SEC playoff football.

What if Bama loses to LSU and LSU loses to Georgia and there is only 1 other Conference undefeated Champ.

Does Bama get it over either of those 1 loss teams or does the SEC get three.

I hadn’t even thought of that. Remember the year Texas beat Oklahoma, Texas Tech beat Texas, and Oklahoma beat Texas Tech. The LSU, Bama, Georgia thing... wow.

Be a lot of griping, but could happen if enough implodes in the other conferences.
