That people who rush to judgement should actually just sit back and watch things play out before all is said and done.

Jones hasn't proven anything yet really. He's looked good for a rookie but he wouldn't be the fist QB to look good early only to flame out.

I know that, but it's besides the point.

It's a good thing there is not a long list of QBs who flashed immediately and then came down as tape became available. If that was true then this thread would be at real risk of not aging well.

No, it's actually not because the guy who started this thread is acting like Jones has validated the Giants selection of him and he really hasn't.....we won't know for a few seasons.

Gotta factor in the fact that the Giants have one of the worst WR corps in football and that Saquon has been injured for the majority of the playing time that Jones has been starting.

Jones is a rookie QB doing pretty damn decent with a clearly below average surrounding cast.

And folks in here are still waffling. :tsk:

It's irrelevant to my point....and besides it works both ways. In general...yes...you should wait a few years before making any statements. That works both for those who thought it was a garbage pick the moment it was made and those who think he's a HOF'er right now.

The 2 teams the Giants beat have a combined record of 2-6. Let's see how Jones does against an actual competent team before we go crowning him worthy of being the #6 pick.

He's certainly better than Haskins from what I can tell. And it can be pretty much assumed now that Gruden wanted Jones.

The Daniel Jones hate from day 1 was IMO nothing more than most Football fans who think mock drafts are worth more than a piece of toilet paper. Year after year people talk about how guys were picked too early or "dropped" because they didn't go according to how dimwits in the media expected and "mocked" them. Yet people will still call a guy a "reach" or "first round talent" that they got in the 2nd or 3rd round because of the fictitious pre-draft hype and even post articles to "prove" their point.

Jones has looked fantastic from the first preseason game he played in, but if the OP actually watched all of his games he would also see that his ball security has been horrendous. I like the kid a lot and think he will be good, but he has a lot to work on. He can make all of the throws and make plays with his feet, but the book is far from being written on him at this point. Seems like an incredibly hard worker and a real high character kid too - Jones, not the OP.

Of course I've seen his games. Ball security is all you have? If he can throw and pinpoint that will work itself out. I'm not a hard worker and high character guy? That's funny.

after 2 games, we're announcing that Jones is a great QB?

Let's see how Jones and the G-men do in Foxboro Thursday night.

That's a measuring stick? They're not supposed to win there. Might as well say Big Ben is not good enough with how many times he's gotten blown out there.

Little early....

If that Arizona QB doesn't beat Cincinnati, then I don't think it's too early. Even if he does, let's see how he does against a collapsing Atlanta team. I don't think the Cards win that now.

Let's not forget they do get Barkley back so that's another weapon for Jones
