What to do with him? Is he even worth having on your roster?

I took him in the 10th round, it would be nice if he would get his ass out and play

I have him in one of my leagues and I was able to pick him up in the 2nd to last round so I figured I'd take a flier but it seems like he will not play this season?

Second to last round? I think that's worth it, but it would also depend on your bench and how deep the roster is. A lot of guys picked around then either dont see the field or are one of the first to be cut so why not go for some upset if you have enough bench slots.

Yeah... People were staying away from him so I took a shot.... I am thinking he sits out the entire year

I really don't know if he will, honestly. The Steelers dont negotiate once the season starts which is why Bell was never going to get one, but the Chargers might operate differently and could go back to him if things dont go well.

Basically Gordon has overplayed his hand and his only choices are to tuck-tail and report, or to hold out. Chargers put their foot in the ground and said a firm no on further contract discussions.

Hard to say what he'll do... BUt I think a valuable lesson should be learned from the Lev Bell situation. He lost out on a lot of money from holding out, and didn't get nearly the amount he wanted. So he lost on both fronts. Does Gordon want to walk that path and hope for better results? One big difference between the two is that Gordon is under contract, whereas Bell was being tagged. He has less to lose in the long run by holding out.

I'm betting he holds out a few games but eventually reports

Chargers GM strictly stated that no further contract discussion will take place until after this season. Or something along those lines.

In a redraft league, I sure wouldn't put much faith into him. Where you drafted him is perfectly fine, not much risk there, more often than not a dude drafted that late doesn't stay on your roster long anyways. However, his name may keep you from jumping on a guy off waivers that actually could help you win. You may not make that move because you're holding onto this idea that he'll save you. IMHO, the most likely scenario is that he stays out till week ten, then reports, just to get his season towards free agency. Awful long time to occupy a spot, especially when byes and injuries start taking affect. But I can't foresee anything but that unless they find a trade partner, which, given the recent news on the offer they rejected and what they're looking for, seems to be a near impossibility.

Yeah but he would still have to sign no?
He's under contract, that's why he doesn't have any real leverage. Zeke was too, but he had the leverage that he's that damned good, you'd better have him. Gordon, while not truly "replaceable", is kinda replaceable..he doesn't have the leverage.

But any team the trades for him, dies so knowing that they'd need to sign him to an extension to get him to show up, so in a roundabout way, yeah, they'd have to sign him, but technically, no

Looks like you are depending on Melvin for this team unless Sanders breaks out

Yeah they had better hope he plays if a team trades for him...

Hmm...okay. I like the WRs for a league with this depth (Westbrook especially could be a big beneficiary of Foles) but I agree with @Shanemansj13 that a lot of faith is going into Sanders for that RB spot. Carr is pretty hit or miss as well, but unless Brown goes AWOL his production should be better throwing to him instead of the corpse of Jordy Nelson.
