Who gives a fuck if it was disrespectful. Honor the contract you signed and problem solved.

These entitled millennials always looking for a corner to cut.

He might as well go back to Cabo cause if he plays or not the cowboys aint winning shit this year.

Again, the owners don’t honor contracts they sign, why should the players? Seems completely fair to me business wise.
This has been going on for decades and decades and decades. Has nothing to do with millennials.

Sources are saying that Zeke wants to be traded. Possibly to Chicago or Cleveland.

I think you need to think about that one for a second.

Let's be clear what we are talking about here. Do you know any boss in the "real world" that would be supportive of an employee who stopped coming to work simply because they wanted more money? How do you think that would really play out for 99% of employees? How do you think that would play out at one of your old Schools if one teacher stopped coming to School because they wanted more money but every other teacher came to work every day?

Thats a good point... but I was more speaking to his support of the tyrant boss type. But I do get what youre saying.

So Zeke, nor any other Cowboys player, SAID it was disrespectful?

Got it.

How did you come up with that. His agent said that Zeke said it and I'm guessing isnt making up lies. So most likely Zeke did say that. You dont see any word coming from Zeke saying, "I didnt say that". Nice spin though. Didnt work, but nice try.

Zeke's agent said he said that. I haven't read anything that QUOTES Zeke as saying that.

nice try but you lose

Why do you care?

Even if he says it, there is some dissension in Dallas.

Big. Fucking. Deal.

Zeke has zero leverage here.

There is nothing in Elliott's or any other players contract with language indicating that he can hold out and does not have to honor the contract he signed.

Actually there is both in the contract and the CBA thats why there are penalties instead of the players being in breach of contract when they hold out.

The CBA makes it easier to hold out than to show up and leave

The agreement between player and team, and the agreement between all players and the league.

That broader agreement gives each player the right to skip training camp, with the understanding that he can be punished with expensive fine (many of which often are never actually collected). The Collective Bargaining Agreement could have been written in stronger terms, allowing the team to pursue a court order forcing the player to return or giving the team the right to shut the player down for the entire year if he doesn’t show up. Instead, the CBA authorizes teams only to fine a player who doesn’t show up — which necessarily authorizes all players to not show up.

Once a player shows up, everything changes. If he later leaves, the team can send him a “five-day letter,” which (obvious given the label) tells the player that if he doesn’t return within five days, he could be placed on the reserve/left squad list. Placement on the reserve/left squad list ends the player’s season, prevents him from playing for anyone (even if traded), and tolls the contract that he already doesn’t like for an entire year.

That’s why players almost never show up and then walk out. The CBA shifts the power to the team once the player reports for camp.

Not non guaranteed contracts. Its business. The owners and players both look at it that way, unfortunately it sucks for us fans. I just think if a player "signs a contract" and the owner breaks the deal the players have the same right. It sucks for us though.
Then if it is non-guaranteed the player knew that when signing it. That is NOT breaking an agreement if it follows what is allowed by the agreement.

Zeke is breaking the agreement.

And if he said that, as much as he is respected, he would be ostracized cause Witten got his money.

I totally get Zeke 100%. Im sure he feels like he is the best back in the league and wants his 50 million guaranteed really soon. He saw how they chewed up Demarco and spit him out. He wants to get his guaranteed cash before they tag him, tag him again. Give him 1600 carries over the next 4 years and his body is trashed while never getting his guarenteed money while being one big injury away from losing it all. I also understand Jerry not wanting to cave this early. Just business.

Every player in that locker room knows that every dollar that Zeke gets is one that they can't. I promise there are guys that are due a contract next year who are thinking "He has $10M guaranteed next year and I have $0" and are pissed.

Again, if an owner didn't honor the terms of a contract he would be sued in a heartbeat.

If the contract allows it to be ended early and has non-guaranteed money and the player signs it, that is NOT failing to honor the contract.
