Yea ... he's a font of current TEX knowledge. I agree that with the core and its resiliance and the strength of the TEX system ... they will be back next year to compete as favorites to win the ALW again.

TB will want to much for Shields, probably at least 2 of our top echelon minor league arms and a couple level "b" players

i do think we push hard to re-sign CJ but i also believe that Texas will look for RH #2 starter, maybe Buehrle

Funny how prospects were nothing more than a crap shoot when we were shipping em to San Diego for a relief pitcher. I don't know about being set back by a WS loss but the odds of Texas making a third staright WS are slim to none.

It wouldn't be wise to discount the effect that last night's loss and this World Series loss could have on the organization. It's the reason they threw in the towel tonight after St Louis took the lead. They were mentally whipped.

History isn't a factor. The team you put on the field and the quality of the competition is.

SEA isn't going to be threatening ... and unless OAK does something crazy in the post season will not be a threat either. However, LAA will be better next year ... can't count on Vernon Wells having another sub-par year and the addition of Trout with Bourjos and Hunter ... and their #1 and #2 along with Trumbo and the potential return of Kendry Morales will make them very tough. TEX is still better up the middle but LAA will be a challenge.
