I’m shooting for future as in three years time. The players now on the big league roster who are part of our winning future.

I say Joey Gallo and Jose LeClerc. Everyone else moves.

What are your views?

If Lynn and Minor are both traded that leaves 5 holes in the SP rotation. If they blow this thing up, it's probably 2025 before this team is competing again.

We only have a winning record ( for the moment) because of the veterans.

The young players on this team have been worthless except for gallo.

Probably the best course of action is to keep a few talented veterans, make a lot of trades, declare every game after August first a try out or audition. Give young guys from the farm a look and some of the guys we presumably acquire in trades.

I’m sick of this “we promised you would start at the beginning of the year”, player goes on to hit under .200 and totally suck, we respond by keeping him up there and sitting / benching more talented players.

The front office has pissed me off many times this year. If they screw up the deadline, I might have to just focus on the cowboys early and I never watch preseason football!

:gaah:

Gallo, Odor, Elvis, Santana, Mazara. I do think Calhoun and IKF will be back as well.

There is a chance they sign Minor to come back after he becomes a free agent in 16 months.

That is why it doesn't matter about the present roster learning to win and it doesn't matter if this present club feels management has given up on the season. It will be a completely different club three years from now.

The longer the team loses and the more and more the fans lose faith in the FO, the harder this thing is going to be to get back on track. Coaching changes, possible FO changes, losing breeds more losing. They better make sure if wholesale changes are made that they get max value for whatever moves they make. I don't see that happening either, lots. of wrong decisions being made, it seems.

Yes, the scary part of rebuilding is that it requires a lot of decisions to be made, and I really don't trust the decision makers.

The new stadium should buy them some time. I hope.

Agree. With the 3 year scenario I offered I did not include both pitchers as their contracts out that far is not certain. Why when given my view I did not include Elvis.

But you make a good point. We would have to spend money to extend Minor, also Lynn as he goes out to 2021 and what would we offer an aging Elvis?

True if he does not opt out he becomes a FA in 2024. He is a Boras client.

Gallo, Leclerc & Santana. that leaves LF, CF, RF, 3B, SS, 1B, C, 5 starting pitchers, 7 relief pitchers and 3 bench players.

Gallo, Leclerc, Santana, Guzman, Brett Martin, and Mazara would be my guess. They aren't going to let any of the cheap arb eligible guys go. Odor may still be here in exactly 3 years because that contract. Elvis isn't going anywhere in exactly 3 years either.

I say they still sell anything they can to get anything of value while we can. Lynn and Minor are going to regress at some point. Get some AA or AAA players back for them, stock the system, lose the rest of the year for a better draft pick, and then freaking SPEND in free agency. We have a new stadium with A/C now so one less reason for pitchers and FA's to stay away. The new park won't have a jet stream, so pitchers might like it here. DFW is a top 10 market, we should be able to have a top 10 payroll. So tired of management wanting to run this team like a 3rd tier market.
